January 2015 Beauty Favourites: Review

January 2015 Beauty Favourites
Wow. January passed by like a breeze! I was still reminiscing my Aussie trips from December last year and now we’re stepping into February already! For the whole of January, I was busy trying to recover and save my skin from the nasty outbreak after I came back from my vacations, hence my focus was primarily on skincare. I think this is also probably the first time I have no eyeshadow palettes in my favourites, with my New Year resolution of trying to rotate and use more of all my makeup.
Without further ado, let’s dig into my January 2015 Beauty Favourites!

It’s been almost a month now using the Laneige Clear-C Advanced Effector and I must say that my skin has cleared up a whole lot! That being said, it doesn’t mean that it clears up acne or irritated skin. What I meant is that it helped in removing the impurities from my skin and to plump up my skin as well with its vitamins. My skin has felt a lot smoother and more radiant with consistent usage of this essence! Even my family could see a difference, so it must be awesome, right? 😉 I have reviewed it here if you are interested.
Together with the essence, I have been diligently taking in the Laneige Collagen Drink (just the drink, not drinking the essence) that contains 5000mg of collagen peptide, the maximum amount the body can absorb in a day. Perhaps it’s the combination of these products that I am really starting to see improvements to my skin. The collagen drink contains red orange and pomegranate, fruits that rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, thus aid in radiance for the complexion. I will definitely be continuing my intake for long, also because of its yummy sweet taste – it kind of tastes like the grape Yakult drink!.
I didn’t use to understand the hype for NARS products until I really tried them out myself. The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Custard) has been my go-to concealer for the whole of January! I am seriously impressed by its high coverage and it is rather moisturising as well, great for the delicate under eye areas. I don’t experience any dryness using this under my eyes as with my experience with other regular concealers. I have been using this on my blemish marks as well just to cover the pigmented areas.
Same goes for this product that I’ll be talking about, you really wouldn’t know how effective it is until you try it yourself. It’s the Guerlain Meteorites Perles D’Etoiles, from their Holiday 2014 collection. For me, I use this as a bronzer, simply because there are a whole bunch of glowy, bronzy pearls in there that are darker than my skintone. These pearls are a dream to blend and it really illuminates your skin when applied, giving you that healthy glow! I will definitely be collecting these Meteorites pearls!~
When it comes to eyeliners, I cannot leave my holy grail – Maybelline Lasting Pen Gel Liner. Honestly, it’s the best thing ever for my oily lids and with good control, you can achieve a matte dark black and precise line. However, as I have mentioned in my review for the Clio Kill Black Eyeliners, these new babies (Kill Black/Brown Pen Liners) are making a grand entrance into my makeup routine for the pigmentation and waterproof qualities! I think I’ve sang enough praises for them and you can read all about them here.
I think I have talked about this particular mascara before, the Shu Uemura Petal Lash Mascara, either on the blog or on my Instagram. I rediscovered my love for this mascara because I thought, why not try to finish a product that’s easy to finish? Hence, I dug this out and I’m falling in love with its floral scent again! I’ve tried more than 10 and this is by far the best-smelling mascara ever! It has a unique curved wand for spreading your lashes apart, making each lash be coated with the product! If you want a nice-smelling and functional mascara, I recommend this particular one.
Last favourite this month is a lip product, the Aritaum Honey Melting Tint. I have 2 shades for this, Coral Candy and Grapefruit Soda but I particular like Grapefruit Soda this month (partly because it’s always in my makeup bag). As the name suggests, it is a lip tint in a lipstick form, so you can sheer it out, possibly to create gradation lips, or wear it pigmented like a lipstick. I like it for its moisturising properties and the smell! It has such a sweet fruity scent it makes you want to eat the product!
This sums up my favourite beauty products for January 2015! Till the next month, my friends! I’m going to be rotating my beauty products so you’ll probably be expecting no repetition in my monthly favourites! 🙂
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
