Europe’19 (Part 1): Packed my luggage to Poland

Visit Poland, Warsaw and Krakow

Europe has been a continent that captured my hearts since I was little. There’s just something about the European architecture that makes me fall in love. I’m no architecture buff but the charm of the classical/gothic/renaissance buildings unique to European cities ignites my romantic self.

Just last month, I went on a business trip to Berlin for ITB Berlin 2019, and fortunately, had the chance to extend my stay in Europe. My boyfriend and I decided to explore the central/eastern part of Europe, specifically in Poland, Austria and Czech Republic. Because we had such an interesting time, I had to blog about the places we went and some recommendations! First stop – off to Poland!

WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD.

Luxurious lips with Tom Ford Lip Lacquer Luxe Matte/Vinyl: Review

Tom Ford Lip Lacquer Luxe Matte/Vinyl

If there is only one beauty brand I can use for the rest of my life, it would be Tom Ford Beauty. I first fell in love with the brand for its lipsticks. One of the first few luxury lipsticks I bought was the Tom Ford Lip Color Shine in Willful. I didn’t know much about TF’s lipsticks, but I really wanted to own one because of the luxe packaging. Then I remember being disappointed at how the lipstick didn’t have the iconic “TF” engraving, haha! Fast forward many years now, I’m finding myself falling deeper in love with the brand.

Whenever Tom Ford Beauty launches something, I get all excited! You can be assured of the packaging, quality and texture of the products. Recently, a new line of liquid lipsticks has been populating my vanity table and it’s the Tom Ford Lip Lacquer Luxe, both Matte and Vinyl.

Afternoon Tea “Exploring Sumatra Coast” at MO BAR @ Mandarin Oriental: Review

Afternoon Tea @ MO BAR, Mandarin Oriental

I love afternoon teas. Whether you’re entertaining friends who are travelling or simply craving for a quality afternoon with your loved ones, afternoon tea is always a good idea. Thinking about indulging in fine aromatic teas paired with delicious treats just makes me feel all relaxed. Do you feel the same?

Over the years, I’ve had quite a couple of high tea (or afternoon tea) sessions with my family, my girlfriends and for the first time, I had an undisturbed high tea with my boyfriend. We were more than delighted by the seasonal, bi-monthly menu we tasted at MO BAR – a chic bar in Mandarin Oriental offering a celebration of flavours and aromas of the Asia-pacific region.

Bloom with TOM FORD Eye Color Quad – African Violet: Review, Swatches & Makeup Look

TOM FORD Eye Color Quad African Violet

TOM FORD eye quads have been one of my most prized possessions in my makeup collection. I don’t have many – just two – because it’s not easy to captivate my heart especially since I work with so many colours and textures daily. I’ve had <Cocoa Mirage> for a couple of years now and was thinking of adding another quad to my TOM FORD beauty collection but wasn’t very compelled until I met <African Violet>.

<African Violet> consists of four opulent complementing shades for anyone to achieve multiple looks, from a bold, smokey eye, to a sexy slash of colour. The reason why I couldn’t shake this palette off my mind was because of the gorgeous orchid purple shade that stood out! I knew I had to get it after weeks of contemplating.

LASIK – the best decision I made – with Shinagawa Eye Centre: Review

LASIK with Shinagawa Eye Centre

One of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life (so far), is to undergo LASIK. For more than 10 years now, I’ve been fumbling for my spectacles (specs) and getting eye infections from contact lenses. I personally hate wearing specs because they just slide off my nose bridge on my oily face during midday. I always tell my friends and family that “specs hinder my vision” because I’m forced to focus my vision within those frames. Me being me – a vain pot – I was wearing contact lenses most of the time, and that led to multiple episodes of eye infections.

As a sportsperson (I as playing netball when I was in school), I had to wear contact lenses for long hours each day, approximately 10-12 hours or more. It sort of became a habit to rely on contact lenses and over the years, my eyes gradually became drier. I even had to switch out from my monthly contact lenses to dailies, but even then, that wasn’t good enough and I sometimes had to alternate between wearing contact lenses and specs in a week. After undergoing LASIK at Shinagawa Eye Centre, my life has changed entirely.
