A fragrance of gold – the Givenchy Dahlia Divin myth goes on: Review
Created in 2014, the original Dahlia Divin was made to possess the unique ability to reveal and exhalt women’s aura. This Fall, as we welcome the cooler months (and the rainy season here in Singapore), get ready to indulge in a warmer scent by Givenchy – the new edition to the collection – the Dahlia Divin Eau de Toilette
The Dahlia Divin EDT is wrapped in the iconic bottle from its original eau de parfum, but translated into pink gold (or better known as rose gold) details. In tandem with the perfume’s pink-peach hue, the emblematic pink gold thread wraps around the bottle’s neck delicately yet in a modern fashion, creating a perfect harmony with the fragrance’s sillage.
Said to be a sillage of light, wrapping you in delicate freshness and sensual softness that reveals your divinity, the Dahlia Divin opens up with sunny, juicy notes of pink gold-coloured fruits – the sweetness of blood orange fused with nectarous notes of vineyard peach. In the heart of this elixir of pure sensuality, a bouquet of pink jasmine blossoms, establishing a hint of warm freshness contrasting to the fruity notes.
However, to me, the most noticeable scents are right in the base of this fragrance – the sweet woody nuances of sandalwood enwrapped with the creamy and luscious scents of vanilla musk. I must say that I didn’t quite fancy this scent when I first smelled it but just as I am describing the notes, the fragrance seems to be creating harmony with my senses. I feel that the sacred hint of the base notes leaves a faint scent of timeless elegance, and this is one fragrance that you would wear with a silky, captivating dress to make your mark.
The divine muse of this radiant pure fragrance is none other than singer, pianist, songwriter, actress, film director and influential philanthropist – Alicia Keys. She’s full of charisma, beauty and aura, just like the Dahlia Divin EDT. She’s the ideal muse for Dahlia Divin, a precious fragrance infused with light, synonymous with radiance.
On me, even though it’s an EDT, it lasts about 6 hours. I could still faintly detect its sillage on my clothing through the course of the day.
Simply divine. This is the Givenchy Dahlia Divin.
The Dahlia Divin EDT retails for S$84 for 30ml, S$117 for 50ml and S$140 for 75ml at Sephora stores.
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
