I have discovered it, have you?
The Biotherm Life Plankton Essencehas made it into my daily skincare routine just after 2 weeks of testing it out! Since the launch of this product, there have been a lot of raves and I can finally comprehend why. This bottle of toner/lotion/essence simply does what it claims to do – hydrate, soothe and soften skin.
You’d probably know by now I am a huge fan for any hydration skincare product because I believe that actual replenishment of moisture or water to the skin cells will aid in the skin’s natural healing functions.
Thus, when Biotherm sent this my way, I was thrilled, even more so after use as I find my skin smoother and more supple! Concentrated at 5% Life Plankton™, the LPE demonstrates the ability to soothe even symptoms of the common skin disorder, Atopic Dermatitis (a.k.a. eczema).
If you’re unaware, the Life Plankton™is derived from the waters of the Pyrenees mountains. Ancient women started out their journey there in the quest to preserve their youth with the water’s miraculous power. Thankfully, Biotherm discovered the secret to the water’s exceptional regenerative abilities and harnessed the living microorganism, none other than the Life Plankton™!
The product comes in a water droplet-shaped glass bottle with controlled dispensing of the product. You have to pour the liquid out from the bottle which is not my ideal type of dispensing a skincare product. I wish it came in a pump instead. Anyway, since there are sediments at the base, it’s better to give the bottle a good shake before use!
The Life Plankton Essence is as actively concentrated as a serum, yet as lightweight as a cosmetic water for maximum absorption and deep-working effectiveness. I like to dispense just 2-3 drops on my palms before applying then patting the product all over my skin for it to absorb. It absorbs pretty fast, due to its lightweight texture!
Overall, I find that this essence is highly effective in making your skin appear younger as it becomes smoother, more even and supple. To see the difference in 8 days might be pushing it unless you do not already have a lot of products in your skincare routine. I would say, give it 2-3 weeks to really see the improvements in your skin. The fragrance of the product, in my opinion, makes me confused because I would expect it to smell more like the salty sea water instead of a garden of night blooms. No biggie though, I’m not quite bothered by its scent.

Here’s a shot of me just after using the Life Plankton Essence without any form of filter or edits 🙂 I may not have the best skin due to my acne scars but I am happy to say my skin appears more plumped up and hydrated!
