I am be dazzled (literally)!

Thanks to Dazzlette Nails I have got my beautiful mermaid nail design that I have been dreaming of for a long time now! I had been doing my own manicure for a few months now to allow my nails to recuperate from all the gelish dress-ups. Now my nails are ready for their fresh coat of (gel) paint!

I was invited by Koji, the lovely and friendly nail artist, also the owner of Dazzlette Nails, to the little cosy space in Bras Besah Complex. It’s a simple space with 2 comfy armchairs for you to sink in and relax as the nail artists work their magic on your nails!

 

There is a huge selection of nail polishes from all sorts of quality brands so no fret because I’m pretty sure you can find the right colour and shade you really want.

So as usual, first up is removing the existing nail lacquer, then shaping and filing of my nails. Koji is really amiable so it’s nice to be able to chat with her on a lot of different things as the manicure is ongoing to ensure that I do not fall asleep. I was feeling rather tired after a long day at work so yeah..

Unlike some of the other nail parlours I have visited, Koji used a gel for softening of the cuticles next so that the cuticles are easy to remove via the cuticle clipper.

As I was trying to battle my eyelids to keep them from closing, I didn’t manage to capture that many photos. It was also partially because Koji was very efficient in alternating her canvas (my nails), I didn’t had any free hands to hold on to my camera.

Tadah! Here’s my gorgeous set of mermaid nails that dear Koji painstakingly pieced up with crystals, metal studs, and even scales via an inlay method where the sequins are embedded in the layers of gel such that they are not exposed. Think along the lines of lamination? If you get what I’m trying to convey.
