With every personality distinctively unique from one another, I’ll like you to focus on “our French friend”, the seductively charming house guest of Countess Dorothea, Monsieur Beauregard.

The Story of Monsieur Beauregard

“Our French friend” is how this unknown but over-familiar character is typically introduced in the house of Lord George. His lingering gaze lets you know he’ll take things from here. Studiously ignored by the female members of the household – and not only because of the large gifts he receives from Lady Dorothea are a little too much — he is always where you least expect him, especially first thing in the morning and last thing at night…

Thank goodness his monumental beauty and sex-appeal alert you to his presence a long time before he comes into sight. Forewarned is forearmed. Oh and what beautiful arms… Nobody really knows how the two met, although tales from soirées on the Côte d’Azur feature regularly in their animated afternoon teas. Quel scandale (what scandal) is his unique way of participating (animatedly) in this most British convention: small talk. And with regards to scandal, as they say: it takes one to know one.

It is only natural that his British hosts, unintentionally bien sur, welcome him not with the correct Bienvenu Monsieur (Welcome Sir), but Monsieur Bienvenu (Mr. ‘Welcome’). Le parvenu (upstart). Indeed.

My Thoughts

Perhaps, imagine having a fine, polished and suave Frenchman in an exquisite suit standing at the corner of the room. As you walk in, his discrete smile, almost that of a smize, lights up the room. That’s how the opening notes of Pink Pepper and Lemon in this scent will greet you.

So suave. Sophisticated. Smooth. Foreign. Monsieur Beauregard (MB) is definitely one that strikes you hard with its charming and luxurious scent. It’s leaning more to the masculine side but not one that’s suited only for the gentlemen. An oriental woody spicy scent, MB is confidently quiet yet mysteriously sexy with base notes of Tonka Bean, Patchouli and Sandalwood.

Be warned. There’s no going back. One look is all it took.

This “boy toy” of Countess Dorothea went home with me because it was love at first gaze. Sexy and dangerously charming, you might not be able to handle him because he can last all night…
