Double or nothing.
Indeed, these “mesmerizing new Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows feature a luxuriously smooth transformative texture. Twelve ready-to-wear and rebelliously romantic sophisticated shades to express a riveting range of eye drama. Go both ways.”
In general, I love the formula of these eyeshadows, especially when layered over a primer, such as my favourite Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. The intensity of the eyeshadows are definitely buildable and what I really like about them is that they are also smooth and blendable. Picked 2 out of 12 eyeshadows from the recent TANGS Summer Rebates and I must say that I am in love with my first NARS products!
The shades I snagged are Phoebe, described as a “deep shimmering amethyst”, which in my opinion, has a brown undertone; and Callisto, described as an “icy pink silver”. The NARS dual intensity eyeshadows retail for S$44 for 0.05oz, kind of pricey for the amount of product in there.
A close up of the 2 eyeshadows:
Phoebe – deep shimmering amethyst with brown undertone
Callisto – icy pink silver, kind of like a champagne colour
Since I am not one who uses eyeshadows wet, in my opinion, these work really well when dry as well, especially under a primer. Swatches ahead!
As you can see from the swatches, the eyeshadows are superb in terms of pigmentation! Even without a primer, they are smooth and highly pigmented. I would suggest those with oily lids like me to pile up an eyelid primer before using any eyeshadows to make the eye makeup last longer and for the whole day.
Hope you enjoyed this short review of the NARS eyeshadows. Which one are you inching to snag now? 😉 Here’s my look using these 2 colours:
