I’m sure we’re no strangers to having flowers in our skincare products. The common ones include roses for moisturisation, chamomile for soothing properties and calendula for anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory uses. What about having peonies incorporated in your skincare essentials? It’s a first for me hearing that L’Occitane actually created an innovative line of perfecting skincare products with peony extract. Behold, the majestic L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Range.
Known to be the flower with a thousand petals, certain varieties of this remarkable peony boast medicinal and ornamental properties. Sharing the same passion for the legendary queen of flowers, L’Occitane collaborates with Jean-Luc Riviere, whose family specialised in peonies for 160 years. Riviere has cultivated over 700 species of the peony flower at the heart of his garden in Drôme, France, displaying his immense love for the flower.
With sustainable agricultural methods, French skincare brand, L’Occitane developed the Pivoine Sublime, a 100% natural collection of peony beauty products aim at perfecting, hydrating and refining your skin.
I have 2 staples in the skincare line to share with you, mainly the Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Toner as well as the Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Cream. Overall, I really enjoyed using these two, especially the toner because it helps to remove impurities within my skin, at the same time refining my skin texture.
The Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Toner comes in a cute red heart-shaped plastic bottle with a silver cap. Nothing fancy, and you can see have an indication of how much product is left just by glancing at the bottle.
This toner is formulated without alcohol but completes the cleansing process by thoroughly removing the dirt and gunk in your pores, even after cleansing. I love how fruity-floral it smells, and it’s moisturising properties simply refreshes the skin every time I apply with a cotton pad.
Enriched with peony extract, it provides skin-perfecting properties by helping to refine pores, soften and tone the skin texture to reveal a radiant and perfect-looking complexion. Its texture is very lightweight as well but gets absorbed into the skin quickly. I really love the smell of this toner as well because it’s like a heavenly combination of sweet raspberry with a floral touch. It kinda smells like that.
To complement the toner, indulge in radiant, flawless-looking skin with the Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Cream. To boost radiance, the L’Occitane Laboratory has developed the pivoine sublime complex which is being incorporated into the Pivoine Sublime skincare range. The complex combines skin-perfecting peony extract and mineral-based optical correctors to bring you radiant and healthy skin. Rich in natural plant sugars, the to-be-patented peony extract acts on skin cells to help visibly correct complexion and texture irregularities.
The moisturiser also comes in a little heart/cherry-like glass bottle with a silver cap imprinted with the brand’s name. Inside, you’ll find a safety aluminium seal in which you need to remove before revealing the light pink-tinted face cream.
The product smells a lot like its toner – somewhat like a combination of sweet nectarine raspberry infused with a bouquet of peonies. I fell in love with the scent right when I opened the cap!
This smooth formula is further enriched with shea butter which provides up to 24-hour hydration. Pores seem tightened with skin texture visibly smoothed and refined with the use of this baby. Well, in terms of having fine lines and imperfections reduced, more time is required to reveal results. However, I do feel that my skin has improved overall by using this duo because I felt like the toner cleanses my skin while the cream beautifies my skin by giving glow to it.
Even though this cream feels luxuriusly rich, it has a light texture that does not make your skin feel like it has a layer of product over it. You won’t be feeling any forms of greasiness as it sets into the skin almost immediately upon application. The skin feels intensively hydrated right when you apply! Feel your skin looking fresh, luminous and rested, with an immediate radiance boost with this!
Will you be trying this out? 😉 I think it’s worth checking it out if you are a fan of floral skincare products.
The L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Toner retails for SGD34 for 200ml and the Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Cream retails for SGD65 for 50ml at all L’Occitane stores, counters and online store.
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
