How many lipsticks does a girl need to own? COUNTLESS! She needs one for every occasion! Urban Decay has worked with our favourite superstar, Gwen Stefani to create her blend of perfect shades and idea textures in a brand new makeup collection – #UDxGwen! I’ve talked about the blush palette previously and I’m now here to give you a lowdown on the lip products in the line!
Can you see how gorgeous these shades are?! Though it’s a bunch of reds, each and every one is different due to its texture, finish and shade.
The lip products in the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani collection includes a collection of lipsticks (I have 6 of them with me for swatches) and their corresponding 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils.
The six lipstick shades range from sheer to cream to mega matte, all created in collaboration with Gwen Stefani! If you love her, you’ll know that reds are her favourite shades to wear! Hence, this lipstick collection is all about the 50 shades of red (okay maybe just 4).
The lipstick line features Urban Decay’s first-ever shade in Mega Matte finish, which is an ultra-bold matte that is super pigmented in one coat. As with all Urban Decay’s lipsticks, all six shades are made with the brand’s proprietary Pigment Infusion System™, hence offer a super-creamy texture with rich colour payoff and superior colour dispersion.
The six shades are:
- Ex-Girlfriend – sheer nude-rose with super subtle pink shimmer
- Firebird – deep fuchsia cream
- Spiderweb – satin red cream
- 714 – bright red mega matte
- Wonderland – dark pink-red cream, super glossy finish
- Rocksteady – deep wine red cream
My favourite out of the range is Ex-Girlfriend and Wonderland! They are the most hydrating of the lot in my opinion and are super glossy when applied. Even though the mega matte is said to be non-drying, I felt like I was tugging my lips when I applied it. Oh and what I like about the lipsticks is that they are formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates so less harmful substances you’re eating right there.
On the stage and in the limelight, Gwen’s lip colour needs to last. After all, she’s a celebrity and they have to look polished and well-maintained, right? To compliment the lipsticks, a set of corresponding shades of 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils to the lipsticks are made!
These creamy, waterproof lip pencils really lines and primes to help your lipstick stay put all day. I’ve tried and tested! The packaging is gorgeous with the gold and black design, isn’t it? Oh and the ends of each pencil is being made with plastic that reflects the colour of the lip pencil for you to locate the colours easily.
Just look at the swatches! I have with me 3 shades to try and they certainly match the lipsticks like a dream.

No words can express how much love I have for the UDxGwen collection! Just look at the swatches and the amazing pigmentation!
