Urban Decay has always been my favourite #1 makeup brand in the world just because it really has got some quality in store for us. In terms of packaging, pigmentation, texture, formula. everything you name it, they have it!

This Spring, Gwen Stefani and Urban Decay created the UD x Gwen Stefani collection, a makeup range entirely inspired by the everyday colours the superstar don. In a 2-part review, I will be talking about the collection, starting with the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette.

Wende Zomnir, the co-founder of Urban Decay, and her product development team spent countless hours at Gwen’s house, talking makeup and working closely with her on every detail of this collection, from the packaging to the formula and shades. Just look at how intricate the metal tag on the blush palette looks. Stunning, isn’t?

Well, I’ll tell you what’s even more stunning. THE INSIDE. But wait for it, let me finish describing the packaging to you.

The gorgeous white with gold packaging is edgy and classy, much like what the diva’s style is. It comes with a magnetic closure like the eyeshadow palette. Gwen actually directed the packaging design, which was inspired by her love for black-and-white graphic prints and antique gold accents. This collection screams everything Gwen, filling her void by developing all the perfect shades she always wished she had! With this arsenal of products, you’ll be finding yourself recreating her signature looks.

“Magic’s in the makeup.” She says. It’s true. Makeup performs magic and the the enchantment is in the shades and textures. I just love that quote on the large-sized mirror. I usually don’t use mirrors on palettes but I must say it sure comes in handy when you’re travelling.

Scouring through Gwen’s photos on the Internet, I can’t help but notice the contouring and highlighting on her makeup and that’s probably why this blush palette is created perfectly for her. Get her glowing, contoured skin with six shades of blushes, bronzers and a highlighter that are pretty versatile. Because Gwen is pretty fair, I wouldn’t say this palette suits all skin tones. Better to test than to buy and let it sit at home.

As with any Urban Decay products (except their 24/7 eyeliners because they just don’t work on my oily lids but I buy anyway), these blushers are finely-milled and extremely blendable! The Afterglow formula goes on sheer but is said to provide eight hours of wearable, streak-free colour. It does last about 4-5 hours on my oily skin and I say that’s good enough for me.

Here’s wearing Lo-Fi as a bronzing shade, Easy on the apples of the cheeks and Angel as highlight. I’m wearing Wonderland on the lips. I’ll be reviewing these awesome lipsticks soon too! They are so so pigmented!
