There are quite a number of things I’m going through in my life now, especially going through a change in my working environment. I feel that it has been affecting me quite a fair bit, and it has taken its toll on my skin as well! 🙁
Anyway, I have finally found time to play with more makeup and skincare, and I’m bringing you a review of the beauty line Ettusais created for ladies in their 30s – Ettusais Premium! I’m way younger than the big 30 but protecting the skin while it’s still young will pay off in time to come!
I’m feeling all pampered and princessy from the sweet pink bottles and compacts! Let’s start off with skincare, since it’s important to ensure your skin is well-protected before you put on your makeup!
WARNING – LONG POST AHEAD!
Said to allow you to reclaim infant-like skin, the Premium Amino Caviar Cream (S$48) is a 7-in-1 day-to-night gel-cream which serves to reverse decades of skin damage. Formulated with Ettusais’ exclusive Amino Premium 7 Complex, it feels intensely hydrating, great for night use in my opinion. Also power-packed with hyaluronic acid, fermented royal jelly, amino acids, the moisturiser helps in promoting collagen production, which makes your skin firmer and more resilient over time.
When you first open up the jar, you’ll notice the little gel beads in the product, hence the “caviar” in the name. When applied, the beads dissolve and get absorbed into the skin. It’s recommended that you massage the product into your skin to increase its efficacy! Since it’s a gel cream, no worries of it being all oily and gooey on the skin. Thumbs up!
To complement the moisturiser, the Premium Amino Eye Serum (S$40) is the perfect companion for puffy eyes and dark eye circles! It comes in a pink tube fitted with a metal spout for you to gently massage onto the delicate skin around your eye area to stimulate blood circulation.
Seems like having a metal tip accompanying the eye serum is a trend right now. I really like the cold metal tip because it relaxes your eyes and soothes the skin while you are applying your eye care product. Don’t you love it too? 😉
The eye cream is lightweight and absorbs fairly quickly which I prefer. I can’t stand oily eye creams, especially if I were to put on makeup in the day. It’s fragrance-free as well.
Well now for the slightly more exciting part, the base makeup line! There are a couple of products here I’ve tried and some I liked, some I didn’t.
The Premium CC Amino Cream (S$36) is by far the first CC Cream I’ve tried with the trend of CC (colour-correcting) creams going on for a while now. This colour-correcting and skin-correcting skincare-makeup hybrid is here to conceal your imperfections, especially if you are fair-skinned!
Formulated with its Uneveness Flat Gel, the CC cream helps your makeup to go on smoothly on top of making your skin more sebum- & water-resistant. Like all its sister products in the range, it contains the age-defying Amino Premium 7 Complex. Not to mention, it defends your skin from harmful sun rays with SPF 40 PA+++ and contains Vitamin C goodness for your skin too!
With all that being said, this product wasn’t as suitable for me with all the redness going on on my skin. I find that it leaves a white cast on me so I wouldn’t be able to head out in that, unless I use it just as a base before my BB cushion/foundation. For fairer skin tones, I think you’ll like this for it corrects the uneven skin tone as it blends better.
Want a sexy, flawless canvas? There you go! The Premium Amino Essence Foundation (S$40) is superb in giving you that second skin you need! Containing moisture-trapping ingredients, stay hydrated longer during the day with this baby!
Formulated with Stratum Corneum Permeation Powder and Pink Control Powder, your skin is ensured radiance and the smoothness it needs to sustain throughout the day. It is not oily as well and my skin feels really comfortable putting this on. The only thing I was concerned about is the rather low SPF25 PA++ rating. I guess it does help to protect the skin from the sun but please put on a sunscreen if you require more sun protection.
I am obsessed with this foundation, not because I am saying it for the sake of it. I mean it when I say it’s good! It colour corrects my dull complexion and especially the redness from acne I’m dealing with now. I wouldn’t say it has perfect coverage, but a decent medium to full coverage that’s buildable. I’ll let the picture below speak for itself 😉 Oh and there are 3 shades, 10, 20 and 30. I’m using shade 30 on my medium skin tone.
Apart from a liquid foundation, Ettusais has a pressed-powder version, the Premium Chiffon Foundation (S$56). My skin is typically dry on the exterior, hence I usually don’t use a powdered foundation on my skin. I use this as an all-over powder with a fluffy powder brush to press on the skin after applying my liquid foundation to make my makeup last longer.
On first touch, the powder feels luxuriously fine and soft. The pressed powder foundation is said to re-texturise your skin, plumping up the skin for a youthful appearance. With Stratum Corneum Permeation Powder, Pink Control Powder and Fine-Particle Powder, you’ll experience good coverage with shine also kept in check! Plus, with SPF 20 PA++, it helps in protecting from UV rays.
You can’t really see but when applied generously over my hand, the foundation seems to blend in seamlessly without any cakiness going on there.
I’m really not a fan of loose powder but this one’s pretty good for its texture and sebum-controlling properties. As I’m typing this, I’ve applied my makeup using the Premium Amino Essence Foundation and this Premium CC Loose Powder (S$40) about 7 hours now (it’s 3.07pm now) and I only see a tinge of oiliness on my T-Zone and cheekbones! Impressive!
I use a wide brush to pat this onto my skin. You’ll be able to feel its softness while seeing your skin being mattified.
Before you decide that your makeup still looks flawless after 5 hours, look into the mirror again! Many, including myself, don’t like to touch up during the day because it’s a hassle to bring both the foundation and loose powder out. With the Premium Luminous Powder (S$42), touching up your makeup can be a breeze! Pop open the cover and you’ll find a nice goat-hair compact brush tucked nicely on the tray.
The Luminous Powder comprises Cover Powder which volumises and smoothens out skin; and Light Powder that highlights facial contours for a 3-D lifting effect! The Essence-in-Powder formula is sure to make your skin glow! The powder has got SPF 15 PA+ as well.
The next time you’re traipsing around the shelves in Sephora ION, don’t forget to check this underrated J-beauty brand out! Ettusais Premium range is also available in selected BHG, Metro and ISETAN stores.
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.

Great review! I love the cherry blossom beads powder from this brand.
Oh those are really cute but they remind me of the Guerlain Meteorites!
