Who’s having K-drama, Descendants of the Sun, withdrawal symptoms? I am! The chemistry between Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo is simply unbeatable and it makes you just want to continue one episode after another. While watching, did you notice Dr. Kang Mo Yeon’s (played by actress Song Hye-Kyo, also LANEIGE’s brand ambassador) various lipstick shades throughout the drama? Thanks to LANEIGE, there’s no need to second guess the shades on her lips!
The flawless makeup of the Korean actress in the drama is not hard to decipher, and they are none other than LANEIGE’s best-sellers – BB Cushion and Two Tone Lip Bar! Speaking of which, LANEIGE has launched their NEW Two Tone Collection which includes products used in the drama! Want to have juicy lips like Dr. Kang Mo Yeon? Time to check the collection out!
LANEIGE previously launched its Two Tone Lip Bar due to the gradation lip trend back in March last year and seeing that the trend is not going anywhere, 4 NEW shades of its Two Tone Lip Bar together with the innovative Two Tone Shadow Bar are being launched a year later! It’s going gradation-crazy!~
Retaining the shape of its predecessor, the second-generation Two Tone Lip Bar consists of four vibrant pop colours – Juicy Pop, Maxi Red, Orange Blurring, and Dear Pink. Of which, 3 out of 4 of them were used by Song Hye-Kyo in the drama.
I’ve always felt that the technology of this lipstick is superb. With a combination of high gloss and semi-matte texture, one swipe with some light blending is all you need to achieve perfect gradient lips. Featuring an upgraded pure pigment technology (marrying Aqua Color and Glass Polymer) in these 4 new shades, the darker main shade of each lipstick seeks to give a more vivid colour payoff while the sub colour works to a soft, subtle tint on the outer side of the lips. The Koreans really know how to captivate women’s hearts (and money), right?
The 4 new Two Tone Lip Bar shades include:
- #11 Juicy Pop – bright coral with yellow, blended to a sweet vivid coral
- #12 Maxi Red – neutral red with beige, blended to a soft reddish pink
- #13 Orange Blurring – orange with white, blended to a bright juicy orange
- #14 Dear Pink (my favourite!) – magenta pink with salmon beige, blended to a mauve-pink
Here’s how they look on my own lips. A more realistic picture for you even though I don’t have moistful lips like Song Hye-Kyo. They are pretty pigmented and can be built up upon layering. They have decent staying power but require frequent touch ups, especially after you eat and drink. I find the formula more moisturising than the old range though which is a huge plus point!
Aren’t the shades playful yet fresh? I think they are so Spring/Summer appropriate, great for everyday wear if you’re into the ombré lip look! Some of the new shades used by Song Hye-Kyo in the drama includes #11 Juicy Pop, #13 Orange Blurring and #14 Dear Pink.

Look at how sparkling and radiant her complexion is with the vibrancy of the lipstick shades! It’s no wonder Captain Yoo Si Jin (played by Song Joong-Ki) is captivated by Kang Mo Yeon and is always thinking of her kissable lips… 😉 Having shown you the screenshots from the drama, I think you should run to your nearest LANEIGE store to grab the lippies if you want to achieve those lip looks because they will probably get sold out faster than Yoo Si Jin can save Kang Mo Yeon.

Alright, lips aside, the brand has launched the revolutionary Two Tone Shadow Bar dedicated to allow you to achieve the natural-looking eye makeup looks from your K-pop stars!
With the same sleek shape as its lippie cousin, the cream-based shadow bars don a rose gold armour instead of the regular silver. Looks pretty huh? IT’S ROSE GOLD.
Like the lip bars, these shadow bars have two different shades, a main base shade and a sub shade. The base colour is formulated with Jewel Powder, a mineral pigment that adds a subtle shimmering effect which brightens up the eyes and the under-eye area. FYI, the Jewel Powder comprises 7 types of ingredients – amethyst, pearl, coral, tourmaline, amber, jade, and ruby (wow).
The 4 shades available are:
- #1 Humming Coral – shimmery rose gold with peach
- #2 Golden Rose – shimmery cream with light bronze
- #3 Orange Island – shimmery vanilla with orange
- #4 Coffee Bronze – shimmery beige with chocolate brown
Overall, they are quite pigmented but I felt that the pigments show up better on lighter skin. On my medium skin tone, I had to swipe a couple more times before I managed to get the colour payoff true to the actual product. The soft cream texture gently sticks onto the lids and can be accentuated by patting on powdered eyeshadow. Containing cross polymer powder, the pigment reduces the crease effect too and I didn’t experience much creasing until my lids oiled up terribly after 6-7 hours. An eye primer will definitely do the trick.
Here’s how they look like on my eyes. You can see that #2 Golden Rose is pretty much non-existent on my darker lids.
Having had so much fun playing with the entire Two Tone collection, I have an ultimate favourite and it’s none other than…
Two Tone Lip Bar in #14 Dear Pink!
Let me just take a moment and attempt to have Kang Mo Yeon’s kissable lips. Yoo Si Jin, will you kiss me now that I have the same lip colour? HAHAHA, just kidding 😀
The LANEIGE Two Tone Lip Bars and Two Tone Shadow Bars are available at SGD34 & SGD38 each respectively in all LANEIGE boutiques and counters.
Create yourself (or maybe a Dr. Kang Mo Yeon) and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.

Hi! Thanks for your lovely review. Can I ask, are your lips already pigmented. Because mine is pigmented and I really want to have a juicy pop because it looks pink in Song Hye Kyo’s lip. Is it like that in a pigmented lip?
Thank you ?
Hi babe, thanks for your question! Yes, my lips are already pigmented and to have a juicy pop, I can suggest for you to lighten your lip colour with your regular concealer. Dab a little onto the lips and apply the lipstick so that the colour pops!
