Ever since I’ve started religiously using skincare products to protect my skin, I’m always curious about a brand called Aesop. As such, I bought my first Aesop product, the Parsley Seed Masque, with my first intern pay check a couple of years back.

About Aesop

Aesop is a brand that reaches out to me because of its simplistic and minimalistic packaging. I love how the products are packed in dark brown bottles with black and cream-coloured labels. Each product has got an aromatic herbaceous scent which can calm my senses. Of course, after hearing all the raves on the Internet, I had to start my Aesop journey with the Parsley Seed range!

Being a huge fan of the Parsley Seed Masque, it’s a no-brainer when Mankind approached me to discover more from Aesop. I ordered everything from the Parsley Seed range! I have with me the Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum, Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Treatment and Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Hydrating Cream. One word to describe the range – irreplaceable!

Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum

This has been the best night serum next to the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II. I adore serums that get absorbed by the skin quickly, and this is one lightweight formulation that seeps into the skin almost instantaneously, despite its slightly thick consistency.

The serum has a complex blend of anti-oxidant and skin-softening ingredients (Grape Seed, Panthenol, Parsley Seed) in a soothing Aloe Vera base, thus hydrates, calms and fortifies the skin. It’s suitable for normal to sensitive skin, which is why it works well for my skin condition. It leaves my skin soft and supple with a matte finish. I also enjoy the fresh herbaceous scent which kinda reminds me of rosemary..? I can’t quite describe but I really love the scent of it.

Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Treatment

I rarely use facial treatment oils because the thought of having more oil on my already-oily T-Zone scares me. I came to discover shortly that not all facial oils are “oily”. Good quality facial oils are light and fast-absorbing without being greasy, and the Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Treatment is one great example.

It is a high-potency oil enhanced with 9 anti-oxidant ingredients (of which, Parsley Seed, Blackcurrant Seed, Blue Chamomile are some) and nourishing fatty acids to fortify, revive and deeply hydrate the skin. It has a similar herbaceous and floral scent but with a nutty finish. I dispense 3-5 drops onto my palm and warm it up with my hands before pressing into my skin. I use this every 2 nights.

What I find it does to my skin is that it replenishes and hydrates to give me a nice healthy glow the next morning. With this treatment, my complexion isn’t oily in the morning and there is this soft and supple feeling which can lead to a great start to your morning! 😉

Of course, not all skin types are suitable for facial oils too so you definitely gotta be careful with that. This particular one is suitable for normal, combination and dry skin only.

Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Hydrating Cream

Every skincare regime needs to have a moisturiser, don’t we all agree? I am loving this Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Hydrating Cream. Hydration is my main focus when it comes to skincare so I pile up on products that hydrate and moisturise. This potent soothing cream is formulated with emollient botanicals such as Rock Rose and anti-oxidant rich ingredients (White Tea and Tocopherol a.k.a. Vitamin E) to fortify and replenish the skin. It has this rich buttery cream texture which can feel heavy to touch but surprisingly is fast-absorbing. A little goes a long way when it comes to this cream so I usually dispense about a 20-cent coin size for my entire face.

Similar to the serum, it has this calming herbaceous floral scent as well which somehow makes me sleep better. I prefer using this at night for that reason. When applying, it takes a couple of seconds for the cream to get absorbed, before revealing a somewhat matte finish that’s supple to the touch.

All in all, I truly enjoy the Parsley Seed skin ritual, together with my all-time love, the Parsley Seed Masque. The range not only helps my skin regain its health, but also provides me with a relaxing aromatic experience.
