April 2015 Beauty Favourites: Review : Roanna Tan

April to me has a rather significant meaning. It was the month of transition for me, from a graduate to a full-time working adult. It feels surreal that I have now entered the workforce, joining every adult in their morning rush and their 9-5 (technically 9-6) schedule. As such, I haven’t had much time to play with all my new toys (makeup) sitting on the vanity shelf. It has just been grabbing a few new products and sticking to them for a good week or two.

Thus, April’s Beauty Favourites is all about convenient and basic needs, comprising of a few makeup and skincare essentials.

I’m all about that radiance this month because my skin has been rather dull from all the early morning rush to work. It hasn’t been the best starting work but I am glad that my mind is holding up well. What I enjoy after work is to remove all the makeup on my skin and thoroughly cleanse my skin with this Clarisonic Sonic Radiance Skin Illuminating Cleanser.

It is a newly launched product in April. and unlike usual facial cleansers, this has a more liquid/milk-like consistency. Being a cleansing milk, it doesn’t dry out the skin. It leaves your skin nicely cleansed and smooth. I actually really feel refreshed and rejuvenated every time I use this cleanser because you can feel that your pores are throughly cleared of gunk. In terms of illumination, I guess it does brighten and even out the skin tone but you won’t be able to visually see drastic changes in one use.

Another skincare product that’s keeping my skin alive and healthy is the Belif Peat Miracle Revital Concentrate. I’ve written a review for it before (read it here) and to avoid being naggy, I shall summarise my thoughts in 2 sentences! It’s a clear, viscous fluid that penetrates very quickly into the skin, leaving no greasy residue, which makes it suitable for even oily skin types! It revitalises the skin and helps brighten the complexion as well 😉

If there is one product I have to pick from all these favourites, it will undoubtedly be the LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask! I can’t live without it now because I can wake up to hydrated baby skin! 😀 It smells amazing with natural fragrances like ylang ylang, rose and sandalwood oil. I always sleep well after putting on this sleeping mask! I enjoy it so much that I had to bring it along (whether or not contained in a travel-sized container) for all my sleepovers so far! The key to looking refreshed and awake even though you may be at your worst is the famous 애교살(aegyo-sal, a.k.a puffy eye bags). I have been using the Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Shadow in No. 1 Beer Pong for my lower lash line to fake the illusion of bigger, brighter eyes! Since this is waterproof, you can be sure that it lasts the entire day without touching up!

Rushing to prepare for work has got to be one of the most tiring things in my life right now. Thus, I have been keeping my everyday makeup fairly simple with this convenient Sleek Makeup Face Form Palette. It has a bronzer, blush and a highlighter, what more do you need? 😉

I usually like to rotate my lipsticks but this MAC x Bao Bao Wan in Burmese Kiss is one of the best matte formulas I have tried, hence I have to include this in my favourites! I have been using this as a lipstick to touch up, or for applying on the inner part of my lips to have that ombre lip look and it has worked amazingly well in terms of lasting power. It’s moisturising even though it’s matte which is a huge plus point!
