Woohoo! I’m utterly lost for words. The biggest launch from my ultimate favourite brand, Urban Decay, just yet. It’s a freaking hundred lipsticks coming to you right into Sephora and the UD boutiques. Yes you got me right, it’s 1-0-0 shades, 6 indulgent finishes and 1 badass faceted gunmetal case. It’s none other than the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks.
Can you spot what I’m looking at as I’m typing this? IT’S RUBY ROSE FOR URBAN DECAY. Ruby Rose with her badass look, f***-it attitude and playful spirit, she’s what it means to be fun, feminine, yet dangerous. That’s what the NEW 100 Vice Lipsticks are going to bring you.

Earlier before the official launch, I was lucky to be able to preview and try out some of the 100 shades during the press event and I am so stoked to be able to share with you 10 shades that UD’s founding partner, Wende Zomnir, has picked out!
Let’s bring it on, shall we?

The beautifully printed box opens up to a trunk of 10 gunmetal bullet cases with 10 different shades in a variety of finishes to tease your heart. These are Wende’s Top 10 Picks that she can’t live without, ranging from brights, to nudes and even playful textures such as metalized!
Can you feel your heart beating faster?! Because that was exactly what I felt when my eyes landed on this sight.
It even has a little #lipstickismyvice printed onto the bottom! You know what to hashtag when posting on Instagram, ladies.
So the Vice Lipstick comes in a modernized, luxed-up version of the original Revolution Lipstick case. Doesn’t it resemble a bullet shell? That luxurious, faceted gunmetal case comes with a gold base and debossed lettering that spells “URBAN DECAY”. You’ll know how luxe it feels once you get a hold of this. Words cannot explain how much I love the packaging. It’s chic yet badass, all encased into one product.
Enough with all the teasing. Let’s get into the real deal. How do you like my arsenal of lipsticks? The custom-designed lipstick bullet also features an embossed “UD” in its classic font and style. Oh and there are shade-matched labels (including the shade name and finish) printed at the bottom so you know how to identify which shade you brought with you. However, I feel that there could be a better way to identify the colours since there are like literally a hundred of them. What if I really owned all 100… Hmm…
Anyway, speaking about the 6 indulgent finishes, we have:
- METALLIZED (M) – cream with a high level of pearl
- CREAM (C) – the original creamy, badass luxury
- MEGA MATTE (MM) – super-intense matte
- COMFORT MATTE (CM) – UD’s creamiest matte
- SHEER (S) – a punch of colour with a sheer, shiny finish
- SHEER SHIMMER (SS) – slightly transparent finish with floating pearl and a smooth texture
Anyway, not that I am biased to UD (or maybe I am? :P) since it’s been my one true love right from the start when I ventured into makeup, I must comment that the pigment load is insane! One swipe is all you need to provide you with a jaw-dropping moment. It has an unbelievable laydown of pigmentation! With the brand’s proprietary Pigment Infusion System™, expect super-creamy texture, rich payout and superior colour dispersion.
The 10 constants in Wende’s makeup bag are:
- Pandemonium (MM) – bright purple
- Rock Steady (C) – deep wine red [previously part of the UDxGwen collection]
- 714 (MM) – bright red [previously part of the UDxGwen collection]
- Big Bang (M) – bright pink sparkle
- Firebird (C) – plum purple with red shimmer [previously part of the UDxGwen collection]
- Menace (CM) – medium fuchsia-pink
- Naked (C) – nude pink
- Backtalk (CM) – mauve-nude pink
- Conspiracy (M) – plum bronze-shimmer
- Disturbed (CM) – deep brick-red
Tried and tested, this stuff’s amazing. And it STAYS. Every shade applies very smoothly without dragging or tugging at your delicate lips and that is due to:
- Yummy butter blend – comforts, hydrates and enhances, leaving lips soft and conditioned, never dry!
- Aloe Vera, Jojoba, Avocado and Babassu oils – nourish and soften lips
- Illipe Butter (derived from Malaysian illipe trees) – provides long-lasting moisture
- Vitamin C and Vitamin E – provide a plethora of antioxidants

Aaaaaand we have them on my lips 😉 I swear I used only one swipe for each shade to apply onto my lips, with the exception of having a lip brush to touch up and perfect the lip lines of course. Impressive, isn’t it? For the darker shades, I could even finish my lunch and the rest of the day without needing to touch up, especially so for the comfort mattes and mega mattes.
If you noticed, I didn’t manage to try the Sheer and Sheer Shimmer. These 2 finished were part of the Revolution range so no stranger there.
To end off, I’ve chosen 4 of my favourite shades out of Wende’s top picks. Menace is a bright warm pink that you can pull off for a playful day like when I’m wearing vibrant yellow! It matches and brings life to my complexion, doesn’t it? Whereas on the other end of the spectrum lies Disturbed, a deep burgundy red that is sexy, sophisticated yet serious. Put on this lipstick to show your no-nonsense side. Backtalk is now my current favourite nude shade! Its comfort matte texture makes it a joy to wear this lipstick the whole day without flakiness/dryness. The tint of mauve gives a touch of sweetness. And then we have 714. Need I say anymore? It simply adds colour to the face and makes you look instantly put-together.
