Your ideal skin attainable with cosmetic lasers at Astique, The Aesthetic Clinic: Review

Cosmetic lasers at Astique, The Aesthetic Clinic

Acne, pigmentation and scarring have always been my main skin concerns since I was a teenager. It seems like my skin is stuck with pimples and scarring for the rest of my life until I discovered the wonders of facial aesthetic treatments.

Why I chose Aesthetic Treatments

With the beauty scene so dynamic and ever-changing, coupled with innovative technology, facial aesthetic treatments are increasingly popular not just among ladies but even the men too. I used to naively think that such treatments are invasive, similar to getting plastic surgery, but the wonders of laser treatments have proved me otherwise. My trip to Astique, The Aesthetic Clinic has showed me how I can achieve clearer skin without any downtime and it completely changed my view on aesthetic treatments!

Being my first proper long-term treatment from an aesthetic clinic, I was of course nervous as to what my doctor would comment on my really terrible skin (well, the photos will show later). Fortunately, Dr. Ng was really nice and helpful in understanding my concerns and my acne history. I must say I had quite an informative and engaging conversation prior to my treatment.

The Consultation

Before every treatment begins, the first step is to strip the skin off makeup and any impurities. Even though I was with full makeup after a long day at work, there’s always no issues because the friendly therapists can always help you with makeup removal prior to your treatment.

To be honest, I really quite enjoy the feeling of clean, bare skin, no matter how bad my complexion is. 😛

After analysing my skin, Dr. Ng decided to go with 3 types of non-invasive laser treatments (which is part of the Radiance EX Package in Astique) that would help fight my acne and scarring problems:

  • Laser Skin Rejuvenation with an Nd:YAG laser – mainly combats dark spots and pigmentation
  • PPx Pore-Cleansing ACNE Treatment™ (PPX) – remove acne-causing impurities
  • CoolTouch – gently stimulates collagen growth and improves pores, fine lines and wrinkles

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser Skin Rejuvenation with an Nd:YAG laser is one of Astique’s range of non-invasive laser treatments. It uses light energy to gently stimulate natural collagen growth. As a result, fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, revealing smoother and healthier looking skin. At the same time, pores and irregular pigmentation are being reduced. This is due to the laser light penetrating age spots and other pigmentation.

Depending on your tolerance for pain, you’ll feel a stinging sensation as the laser treatment is ongoing. For me, pain has never been a problem (oh trust me, I’ve been through worse from intense facial extractions), hence I didn’t even go with numbing cream. It’s slightly stinging but nothing you can’t bear for just a minute or two. Say bye bye to nasty stubborn scars!

PPX Treatment

Next up was the PPX treatment, which is an advanced technology that combines a gentle vacuum with therapeutic broadband light, to help me attain clearer skin. This treatment is painless, except that you’ll experience a gentle suction throughout. PPX eliminates acne and pigmentation, and rejuvenates skin in a quick and effective manner.

CoolTouch

And the most feeling-less treatment, the CoolTouch!~ It is also a non-invasive treatment that uses light energy to gently stimulate natural collagen growth, improving pores, irregular pigmentation and reducing fine lines and wrinkles at the same time. This laser stimulates collagen production and I was told that as new collagen is generated, lines and wrinkles are decreased as well. I must say, I’ve had much clearer skin after the treatment, despite having slight redness because of my sensitive skin. Well, the redness went away by the next day so no issues there!

Chemical Peel

Oh and to end off, Dr. Ng recommended a Chemical Peel to brighten my skin. This 3- to 7-day controlled skin peel system is familiar to many since it is widely used in facials nowadays. This medical-grade cosmetic treatment is based on the inhibition of tyrosinase, a critical enzyme in the melanin (pigment) production process. It is designed to lighten blemishes and resist pigmentation, therefore brightens the complexion quickly and effectively.

The Results

Just one trip to Astique and I’ve learnt about how the different treatments can improve my skin complexion. I’m really quite excited to dictate my skin journey with Astique in months to come!

Here’s how my skin looks like now with just mild base makeup on. I’m surprised how my skin can be so clear and blemish-free. Even though my skin texture is not perfect yet, I’m confident with consistent treatment, it will improve. Stay tuned to my next visit!~

Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
