August was a month of transition for me as I bade goodbye to my beloved colleagues in my workplace. I’m pretty much the only person left now with all an entirely new team. It was sad but I guess, a new environment sometimes tests your ability to adapt, isn’t it?
Anyway, with all the love that’s showered to me from the different beauty brands (I am truly grateful, thank you), I have discovered some makeup and skincare products that I’m especially drawn to this month! Let’s dig into my August 2015 Beauty Favourites, shall we? 😉
The first product I’m going to mention is no surprise to you, especially to Jurlique fans out there. It has to be the best-seller, the Rosewater Balancing Mist of course! It’s such a easy go-to product to use, especially with its spray pump! Just spritz the toner onto your skin and pat dry – no need for cotton pads! I love how refreshing it is to apply onto the skin and it smells good too! It complements the other products in the Rose Moisture Plus range so well.
With my skin acting up once every month, I tend to opt for a foundation that gives full coverage and most importantly, oil-free. The Too Faced Born This Way Absolute Perfection Foundation has been doing great for my skin in terms of providing a flawless, semi-matte finish. I like that it’s oil-free because it does not break me out or make me look like an oil slick during the course of the day.
I’m using the shade Natural Beige. Can you see how natural it is when blended on my skin? It’s so easy to blend too and a little goes a reaaaaally long way!
When it comes to eye primers, I gotta give it to Urban Decay, hands down. I’ve never tried the Too Faced Shadow Insurance before (they say it’s comparable) but this, the Urban Decay Primer Potion, is by far one of the best eyelid primers I have ever used, hence I’ve repurchased it this one in the Anti-Aging formula, in its brand new packaging. Okay wait, part current and part old – current tube form but using the old wand-style applicator.
What I like about this primer is that it is more liquid in terms of consistency, hence explains the ease of blending onto the eyelids. It also is very convenient to apply with the wand but I can already foresee wastage towards the end of the tube because the wand will not be able to reach the corners. Nevertheless, this is a good primer to have if you can’t live without eyeshadows.
Have I already emphasised how good these Browhaus Heavy-Duty Bi-Liners are? I’ve been diligently using them because they are long-wearing; they do not smudge or run on my oily lids. What’s more, it’s quick because all you need to do is to fill your lids with a stroke or two and you’re done with your eyeliner! I’m especially obsessed with Midnight Blue for a pop of colour, Burgundy and Noir Shimmer for an everyday look.
And yes, you’ve guessed it! My favourite lipstick of August has to be the M∙A∙C x GiAMBATTiSTA VALLI lipstick in Tats, a bright hot pink that complements my nude makeup. I’ve been featuring it everywhere in my makeup messes. It’s such a lovely bright pink that instantly perk you up! What’s more, like the other shades in the collection, this is good to throw in the purse because it’s non-drying as well and doesn’t accentuate the lines on the lips.
What are your favourites for the month? Share them with me in the comments below! 🙂
