Braun Face, World’s 1st Facial Cleansing Brush & Epilator: Review

Braun Face
Braun launched Braun Face last year near the end of October and I had the honour to be one of the first few to try out the World’s 1st Facial Cleansing Brush and Epilator device, c/o the Braun team! This review is rather late as you guys know that I was pretty much away the entire holidays and it’s time to clear my blog reviews! By clearing blog reviews, I meant writing the belated reviews, not just chunking a bunch of words together, so be assured that all my reviews are of quality!
Being a Clarisonic user for about 8 months or so, I was intrigued by this nifty design – you can change up the epilator to the cleansing brush, vice versa. There was a mini brush included in the kit for dusting away the hairs after epilation.

I’ve always used a regular shaver to get rid of the fine hairs between the brows and the areas around the lips. However, using a shaver, you won’t be able to clear the hair on certain areas  without accidentally shaving off some portion (e.g. between the brows) due to the size of the blade. With a slim epilator head, this product delivers precision when it comes to shaving those areas! What’s more, this epilator shaves 200 times faster than manual tweezing. It’s so convenient because you don’t have to stand in front of the mirror squinting your eyes to see the hairs you want to tweeze.

As mentioned, the brush that comes with it allows you to quickly dust away the hairs stuck in the epilator, to ensure cleanliness. However, as it was my first time epilating my facial hair, I did not expect the pain level to be rather high! I would rate the pain level to be 8/10 as compared to manual tweezing. Because multiple hairs are simultaneously being pulled out of their roots, you’d experience much more pain than tweezing. I guess after some time when you are used to the pain level, you would feel a lot more comfortable.
On to the cleansing brush! Even though this is indeed a handy product, I must comment that the cleansing brush feels a lot more harsher than I thought it would. It felt rather soft on the hands but little did I know that it would feel so prickly and painful on my sensitive skin! I stopped using the cleansing brush on my face, ever since it set foot on my facial skin! I really wouldn’t use this on my delicate skin and it’s a pity that this is the only type of brush head available for this device.
I found an alternative use for this though, which is to cleanse my back. Having clogged pores and occasional acne on my back, I find that this cleansing brush work best on my back! I guess I managed to find another use for this device, not letting it go to waste!
For hygiene purposes and like the Clarisonic, you can remove the brush head easily to wash it. You just need to press the button at the top of the cleansing brush head and pop! The brush head falls out!
Besides being functional, this device is also sleek and handbag-friendly. It’s ideal to bring along for holidays, work or simply being in your makeup bag in case you need to rid of any stray hairs immediately! What do you think of this? 😉
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.

  1. I liked my Clarisonic at first but don't find myself reaching for it anymore. I was going through a bad breakout for several weeks lat year and was desperate to try anything to get rid of my acne. Changing up my cleanser and treatment seemed to be the cure rather than the inclusion of the Clarisonic. still like it for light exfoliation or heavy makeup removal days xD

  2. Hmm I think Clarisonic isn't the solution to acne! It may dry up your skin even more if you use it every day and this causes more sebum to be secreted which in turn causes more acne!! So yeah, I was using my Clarisonic for exfoliation 1-2 times every week!! 🙂

  3. Roanna, epilating the face is very painful especially at first. Since the cleansing brush was a little too strong for your face, I'm glad you found a use for it. I never thought about using the cleansing brush on other areas of the body.

  4. I think this is a really great device. we have thousands of different models in the market but according to researhes and experts Braun is the best epilator. I have it I'm very glad to have it.

  5. Hey there! I don't really like it though. Perhaps because it really hurts my skin when I epilate! I have pretty sensitive skin so my skin and pain don't go well together :/

  6. Hello, would it be possible for you to publish a picture of the brush conector, the plastic part where it connects to the epilator??? Because I’m wondering if they use the same brush as some other face exfoliator. I hope you can. Nice article.

  7. Hi smootskinlab, I also have the Braun epilator. All I can say, this is amazing hair remover. Will recommend to all girls out there.
