Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!~
I just came back from Seoul, Korea, recently and I’m still wishing I was back in the cold, with occasional snow while walking down the shopping streets of Garosu-gil, Hongdae and Myeongdong.
Travelling to Seoul, South Korea
It’s 25 years into my life and it was my virgin visit to the popular travel destination, South Korea, to attend a K-Beauty conference – Made in Korea (MIK) 2017 – courtesy of MyFatPocket. It was my first time travelling with MFP’s Editor, Xinyi (@xinyicyndisoh) too. This short trip was a rather fruitful one as I got acquainted with many K-Beauty brands that are looking to expand to our tiny little red dot, ate many local dishes and bought even more makeup!
Before all the beauty reviews continue to populate Paradeoflove, I just want to pen down some of the interesting things I encountered in this metropolitan city, including beauty recommendations, food I’ve tried and some of the Instagram-worthy spots for your OOTDs in your next trip.
Travelling makes up a huge part of my life now, ever since I started working in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) industry. If you’re a reader of Parade of Love, you’ll know that the face behind this beauty blog carries a DSLR out all the time.
However, when I’m travelling, I always rely on my iPhone and never brings my heavy duty cam. I mean, everyone wants to travel light (well, at least I do, especially for business) so it’s perfect if you are able to capture special moments or scenery with a lightweight gadget that delivers high quality photographs! Just for this post, none of the photos are edited to show you what I mean by a quality compact camera. Introducing… Casio EXILIM EX-ZR5000!
There are 4 colours to this digital camera made for the perfect selfies – Black, White, Pink and Green! Aren’t they pretty! And well, this selfie cam features an upgraded 19mm super wide-angle lens and Wide View Photo mode to deliver expansive and high-impact scenic photographs that are sure to impress!
Are you an online shopping junkie? If you are, what if I tell you that you can get paid for shopping?!
Well, you can now get cashback (yes, get your cash back) when you shop at ShopBack
! ShopBack is an online shopping site that helps you get the best deals and discounts on 300+ stores. When you spend online through ShopBack, a portion of what you paid will go back to you as cashback. You know what this means? Extra, unlimited savings whenever you shop online! Isn’t that awesome?
Being an online shopping queen (as what my friends call me), I usually prefer shopping online just because I hate queuing at the cashier. With ShopBack, I can shop in the comfort of my own home and save some cash!
Hello hello! This isn’t something related to beauty, makeup, or close to anything I usually talk about but I absolutely need to blog about this awesome experience at the wonderful Aoki Restaurant by the Les Amis Group. ♡♡♡
If you know me, I’m never a foodie and I don’t go around hunting for food, even though I have a huge love for Japanese cuisine especially sushi and sashimi (I can eat my Amaebi every day!). However, after stepping into Aoki, I must add the Mazechirashi (S$40) to my list of “Must-Eat” food. If you’ve had Aoki’s Mazechirashi before, you’ll naturally know what I mean. I’m pretty sure it’s happiness and love in a bowl that you’d want to keep coming back for (if you have spare cash of course or feel like indulging yourself).
As a non-foodie, I didn’t hold any expectations even though it’s by the Les Amis Group but I am certainly wow-ed and amazed by the freshness of the food prepared as well as the quality service experience. Without further ado, let’s dig into my bowl of fresh goodness! JUST. LOOK. AT. THAT.
Holla! It’s a good Saturday, well spent with my beloved Mummy and Sis. Even though I should be studying for my final papers next Tuesday and Wednesday, I still decided to head out for a good brunch (a very late one) and I am so satisfied, ready to finish off the last lap of exams!
So Mummy, Sis and I were randomly walking around Holland Village trying to look for a good place for brunch and we incidentally discovered d’Good Cafe. Thinking that it might be promising, we decided to go ahead with this cafe and we were pleasantly surprised by the decor of the cafe!
273 Holland Avenue
Inside, there are 3 levels altogether, with indoor and outdoor seats and what I really like about this cafe is its really cute and cosy decorations! It gives me the kind of feeling that I am in an overseas cafe! So this is what the coffee bar looks like:
