“Hello, you there? Send nudes.” (Not what you think…)
Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk makeup line is the perfect nudes you should be sending to any girl. If you haven’t heard, the #PillowTalk makeup range has EXPANDED, WOOHOO! We’re now talking about pinky nude shades for all skin tones – fair, medium and dark – there’s something for every girl.
About Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte Tilbury is a renowned makeup artist who wants to “make every woman the most beautiful version of themselves”. She has worked with some of the most incredible people in the fashion and beauty industry from world-class photographers to A-list celebrities and models. (Think Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, and Natalie Portman to name but a few.) Of course, not forgetting iconic publications like Vogue UK, US, Paris, China and Brazil, and many more.
She believes in the power of makeup and hence established her own makeup range to empower women. As she rightly put, “give a woman the right makeup and she can conquer the world”.
About Pillow Talk
Since the establishment of her makeup line, Charlotte’s Matte Revolution Pillow Talk Lipstick (original) has been selling like hot cakes. With the need to cater to different skin tones, the Pillow Talk line has been expanded to not only include various shades of the Original (OG) lipstick, but also lip liners and blushers. There’s even a Pillow Talk palette too!
The Palettes
There are altogether 3 palettes in the Pillow Talk range:
Instant Eye Palette Pillow Talk (Limited Edition)
A limited-edition eyeshadow palette featuring four eye looks for every occasion, from day to desk to date and beyond. There are 12 shades altogether, and I love that it ranges according to intensity to suit your fancy. With super-soft intense matte and metallic pearl finishes to shimmering dreamy satins, this is a staple in your makeup wardrobe! Oh, and the rose gold packaging is luxurious and gorgeous, don’t you think?
Luxury Eyeshadow Palette – Pillow Talk
For the girl who likes it simple, this eyeshadow palette is for you. With 4 mesmeric, wearable shades, this palette helps you achieve an effortless everyday makeup look. The shades are highly pigmented yet blendable and gets you ready in 5 minutes.
The palette features a champagne pink, a matte dusky rose, a soft matte brown and a rose gold sparkle. The shades are universally flattering so this palette will suit everyone.
Luxury Palette of Pops Eyeshadow Palette – Pillow Talk
If you like it extra glam, this palette with its 4 colour-coded, eye-gilding shades, is for you. This palette includes silky-smooth shades that glimmer with translucent sparkle to make your eyes POP! It features a pearly champagne, a peachy rose gold, a gold-ish copper and a peachy bronze.
The Lipsticks
“Lipstick is happiness in a tube!” – Charlotte Tilbury
This iconic matte nude-pink lipstick is what every lady needs right now. The formula is moisturising and enhances the natural hue of the lips to give a pillow-y effect. It has nourishing orchid and Lipstick Tree (a.k.a. Anatto Tree) extracts and light-reflecting pigments as well.
There is a total of 3 shades to the Pillow Talk Lipstick Fam now – OG, Medium & Intense (not matte).
What I like about the lipsticks:
- Formula is moisturising and non-drying
- Square shape at the tip makes it easy to apply on the cupid’s bow
- Luxurious rose gold packaging
Oh, and there’s also a Pillow Talk Lip Lustre Lip Gloss to give your pout some extra-dimensional shine.
The Lip Liners
Accompanying the lipsticks are the respective Lip Cheat Lip Liners in OG, Medium & Intense. What’s surprising about the lip liners is that the Intense shade is a very dark brown. I would’ve imagined it to completely match with the lipstick though.
Anyway, these lip liners are supposedly waterproof, and they have a velvety formula. They are quite long-lasting but only if you don’t eat. I find that once you’ve eaten something (oily), the formula comes off pretty easily. Nevertheless, they are great as complements to the respective PT lipsticks.
The Blushers
Finally, we have the Cheek To Chic Blushers! There are 2 shades to the PT family – OG & Intense. These blushes feature creamy textures buildable for a healthy complexion. The formula is made with a Light Flex Technology to give a luminous look by capturing light and re-emitting it.
OG features a dusky pink outer ring and a champagne pink core for an everyday look; while Intense combines a bronze with a rose gold shade – great for darker skin tones. Intense can even be used as a bronzing powder for light to medium skin tones!
Makeup Look
Phew, what a long review on all the products! Here’s a makeup look using all-things-Pillow-Talk:
- Luxury Eyeshadow Palette – Pillow Talk
- Matte Revolution Lipstick – Pillow Talk Original
- Cheek To Chic Blusher – Pillow Talk
Overall, I have been using Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup for a while now and I love the luxurious packaging and textures. The extension of the Pillow Talk range is a great move by the brand to revolutionise the definition of nude. Whenever we talk about nude shades, the highlight is on beiges, browns and taupes. However, these Pillow Talk pinky-nudes really bring out the femininity and natural beauty of every woman regardless of skin.
What do you like most about the Pillow Talk collection?
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
