Clean skincare with Derma E: Review

Clean skincare with Derma E: Review

Sponsored by iHerb

“Clean Beauty” made waves in the beauty industry not too long ago, and the beauty market hence exploded. My sentiments tell me that this trend will be even bigger as we place emphasis on the ingredients and the impact we make on the environment. I’ve recently tried Derma E, a proven clean beauty brand from the U.S. and I’m really loving it!

What is clean beauty?

Clean beauty is a lifestyle that’s mindful of what we put in our bodies and how we impact our environment. It is getting popular, as more people place emphasis on the ingredients in products they use. Good clean beauty products focus on ingredient safety and the effects it will have on our health and the environment.

About Derma E

Derma E started in a small health food store in Southern California. Their first product was the Vitamin E 12,000 I.U. Moisturizing Cream which many love. Over the years the brand introduced many extraordinary products. Each is rooted in their belief that skin health can be visibly improved through the right combination of exceptional ingredients. All the products are made:

My Clean Skincare Routine with Derma E

For the past week, I tried out Derma E skincare. I’ve replaced my entire skincare range with Derma E’s products to see if it did better for my skin. As I have combination skin, mostly dry on the inside, I chose mostly hydrating products:

This sulfate-free cleanser washes away dirt, oil and impurities without drying out the skin. It contains Hyaluronic Acid to deeply hydrate and condition the skin. I like that it has a gentle gel formula that cleanses well, very suitable for my skin type.

Moreover, the facial cleanser is infused with skin-loving Chamomile, Lemon Grass, Papaya and antioxidant Vitamins A and E. I like to use this both day and night because it has a light, uplifting floral scent that makes you feel happy.

For toner, I went with an anti-aging one that also helps reduce the size of my pores. The Anti-Wrinkle Toner is pH balanced and alcohol-free, which is a great after-cleansing toner. Additionally, it’s so refreshing when you apply onto your skin!

It is rich in Vitamin A and Marine Plant Extracts, which helps in renewing while purifying the skin. The texture of this toner is light and watery and has a slight cooling effect when you apply onto your skin.

If there’s one skincare product that I must have, it must be serum. Serums usually contain high concentrations of ingredients for targeting specific skin concerns and they typically absorb quickly too. Hence, I’m very picky when it comes to selecting serums.

I’ve been using the Derma E Ultra Hydrating Serum and I must say this baby doesn’t disappoint! This ultra-hydrating serum formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, lives up to its name. It drenches the skin with moisture, making it feel so incredibly soft and smooth. Moreover, it is vegan as well, which is another plus point for all who prefer a vegan alternative.

When dispensed, the serum looks semi-translucent which indicates its light texture. It absorbs into the skin quickly to give a velvety finish which I really enjoy. It also has a mild fruity scent that serves as a perk-me-up!

After serum, I always go for a moisturiser to “seal the deal”. This Vitamin E 12,000 IU Creme is the original antioxidant cream the brand developed, so I had to pick it up! This is not your usual face cream, but instead, is a multi-purpose formula for our bodies too! It is designed to moisturise and protect our skin while fighting free radical damage. I use this not only on my face and neck but my elbows and knees too! With Vitamin E as a natural moisturiser, antioxidant and a healing vitamin, the cream helps to also protect the skin’s fatty acids.

However, the texture of this cream is slightly thicker than what I’d expect of typical face creams. In fact, it’s a viscous cream that takes a while to be absorbed so you gotta be patient. I like the mild calming scent though 😉

Being one who doesn’t like to sleep early, I’m forever combating dark circles! This Perfecting Eye Cream has been a great help lately in fighting my panda eyes. It’s kinda like a tinted moisturiser but for the eyes. And interestingly, this comes with a ball-tip applicator for you to massage the eye area too.

Enriched with golden turmeric, mica, and nourishing antioxidants, the eye cream provides hydration while brightening the eye area. It also has caffeine to reduce puffiness and dark eye circles, just see the before-&-after below!

If you ask me to pick my favourite Derma E products, I’d go with the Ultra Hydrating Serum and the Vitamin C Perfecting Eye Cream! These two have really helped to hydrate and brighten my undereye area respectively and I highly recommend you try them out!
