December 2014 Beauty Favourites: Review

December 2014 Beauty Favourites
Happy New Year my lovelies!
It’s 2015, a new year, a new beginning! Let me start off the new year with a round up of my December beauty favourites! As you know, I have been on vacation to Aussie – Sydney and Perth – hence, most of my favourites here are mainly from my travel bag. I have a fair mix of skincare, body care and makeup products to share with you, so keep reading!

Whenever I travel, my skin becomes very dry, especially so in air conditioned environment like the hotels and apartments I stay in. Hence, I always try to pack heavy-duty moisturisers with me to hydrate my skin and make sure that my skin remains soft and supple amidst the dry environment. I have been loving the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief because it works on my skin like magic! For my 2 Aussie trips, this has been my best friend and it ensures that my skin is relieved of all dryness! Considering to purchase the full-sized product soon..
Of course, with moisturising the facial skin, comes moisturising the body as well, right? Dryness really hit me and I found myself reaching out for a body lotion very often. The one I have been using is the The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter. I believe it’s part of the Limited Edition Christmas 2014 collection. As soon as it’s opened, the heavenly fruity candy apple scent fills the room in seconds! I just love the scent and the fact that it keeps my skin soft and moisturised!
When I am travelling, I try very very hard to pack light. Since my usual makeup routine consists of powder, contour and highlight, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette has been fulfilling all my requirements. This little palette packs 3 squares of finely milled powders for me to set my makeup, add warmth and contour to my face and to highlight the high points on my face. The texture of the powders are so smooth that it gives an airbrushed and glowy effect. Definitely worth every cent I paid!
I know for this one, I have been talking about it since I received it, but I still want to mention this blusher that smells so heavenly! It’s none other than the Vecua Honey Honeydew Cherry Cheeks in Fresh Cherry! It’s comes in a cardboard packaging, so sleek that you can just slip into your makeup bag for everyday touch ups. Also, I have been using the puff inside to apply the blusher on my cheeks. When using a patting motion on the cheeks, it gives a natural sweet orange glow to the cheeks! I absolutely love the cherry scent as well  but I do know that some people don’t really fancy scents on their makeup products, so if you are someone like that, you may not like this. For me, I have no complaints for this one and I think I have to get backups for this soon in case it runs out!
My makeup routine also consists of mascara because I feel that without mascara, the lashes look really bare, especially when I have dark black eyeliner on. Hence, a mascara certainly adds the finishing touch to every makeup look in my opinion. With the hot summer weather in Aussie, I brought a waterproof mascara, the Clio Salon De Cara in Roll Brush Cara! It lengthens and separates my lashes and holds my lash curls fairly well too. The only thing I wish this mascara could have is to be more resistant to the harsh weather! It was so hot that I had little smudges on my lower lash line after a few hours of wear. However, it performs really well for me in Singapore’s weather though.
And the last product in my favourites would be the Aesop Parsley Seed Masque! I have been recommended by my dear friend Sylvia, that this mask is a really effective one so I decided to give it a try. I think I have mentioned before but I still want to talk about it again because it works really well in hydrating my skin when I was in Aussie. It helps to calm my irritated skin as well and ensures that my complexion is maintained even in a different environment. I like the smell of it though – it smells pretty herbal to me (western herb rather than the Chinese kind) and it relaxes me as well.
Well, so these are my December favourites! Let me know if you love any of these products and if you are going to try them out! Till the next post my friends!
Wishing you a wonderful year ahead and give thanks and give love in this new year!
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
