I’ve always been a huge fan of eye makeup, especially coloured eyeshadows because I love playing with different hues and textures on the eyes. To make my eye makeup stay for as long as I am out and about, I invest in good eyelid primers.
This October, Benefit Cosmetics has launched a genius product that I foresee will become one of my favourite eyelid primer, after its Stay Don’t Stray Eyeshadow Primer. Eye, eye, captain, it’s none other than the Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer!
You heard it, the Air Patrol has landed to defend your eyelids against pollutants, the sun and smoke! Just what we need for the crazy hazy skies, ain’t it?
The Air Patrol, as the name suggests, is an eyelid primer with colour-correcting abilities to combat redness around the eye area, and it contains an EnviroDefend Complex to help guard eyelids against environmental stress. What’s more it has SPF20 to protect the lids from sun damage!
The Air Patrol comes in a whimsical packaging just like the products of Benefit. It has a cute silver cap with a winged-like design at the side and its name is printed onto the tube with cute little airplanes flying around. I must say that the cap is adorable though kinda bulky, but fits securely to prevent any accidental spillage of the product.
At the very end of the tube is a click-and-twist base that facilitates the dispense of the product. Just one click is all you need for each eye, it’s that fuss-free!
The unique feature about the Air Patrol is its CushionCalm™ tip that’s inspired by gel foam mattresses and pillows. You can sort of guess that it feels really really soft, said to be softer than your pinkie! 😉 I’ve tried it and it’s true! The cushion tip feels so smooth and soft that I had to put in extra effort to care for it in case I damage it with my rough handling. Oh yes, and the product is dispensed through the tiny opening of the soft gel tip.
I find that this eyelid primer holds my eyeshadows for the entire day on my oily lids! It’s been some time since I’ve found something that can withstand the sebum produced from my lids! Also, because it is a BB cream eyelid primer, on days when I don’t want to wear eyeshadows, I actually use it alone to correct the dullness and redness on my eyelids, especially in the inner corners.
Not too sure if you are able to spot but it’s pretty easy to blend, especially with fingers.
I personally don’t use the cushion tip to blend the product just because I refuse to dirty the tip. Yes, an OCD like me prefers to get down and dirty and do it the manual way – with my fingers! Can you see the difference before and after application? Note that I did not use any colour correction tool when editing my photos to show you how effective its colour-correcting properties are. You can see the drastic difference in the inner corners of the lid.
The Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer retails for S$51 and is available in all Benefit Singapore stores and counters from October 2015 onwards.
Even though I highly recommend this product, I feel that S$51 for an eyelid primer is a tad too pricey for an eye primer. With half the price, I feel that you can get a comparable eyelid primer from the Sephora counters. No doubt it’s an effective product, but whether it’s worth every penny, you decide for yourself 🙂
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
