Eyeshadow is my weakness, undoubtedly. I can never walk out of my house without putting on colours on my eyelids. Ever since the launch of the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette, I’ve been obsessed with amber/orange hues! My recent purchase from Sephora, the Dior Backstage Eye Palette – Amber Neutrals, got me hooked even more.
About the Dior Backstage Eye Palette – Amber Neutrals
Inspired by the energy from the backstage of runway shows, the Dior Backstage Eye Palette – Amber Neutrals is built to suit all skin tones. With 3 shimmer shades, 4 mattes, and 1 satin finish, the palette has a good range of textures for any makeup look you wish to create. There’s even an eye primer (first square) for a longer lasting wear!
The Packaging
It’s been long since I last purchased an eye palette from Dior. I couldn’t resist this one because of how compact it is. In my opinion, it’s a no-nonsense palette with its shade range and texture variety. Moreover, I like the simple transparent acrylic palette it comes in, simply because it’s easy to travel with! I foresee packing her in my makeup bag on my future trips.
The Shades & Swatches
There are altogether 8 eyeshadow shades:
- Bronze Highlighter – a rose-gold highlight
- Ombre Sculpting Powder – a matte chocolate brown
- Shimmer Orange
- Shimmer Red Copper
- Shimmer Red Sienna
- Matte Red
- Matte Brick
- Matte Smoky Brown
Each shade has got the signature “DIOR” lettering embossed and is richly pigmented, except for Shimmer Orange. Perhaps it’s too close to my skin colour, but I find that it doesn’t do anything for me at all. If you’re a tat lighter than my NC20 skin tone, it will probably show as a light peachy shade. No complaints from me for the others though, because the pigmentation is BOMB AF.
The Makeup Look
Ever since I got the palette, I’ve been using it to death. Be it going for a dinner date or even just for my everyday look, this palette is the perfect go-to (only if you like amber hues).
Overall Thoughts
In summary, I love this palette for its versatility, size and shade range. However, my only gripe is that the cream primer tends to catch the fallout from the powders. I’ve cleaned it a couple of times and am probably gonna continue doing so till I stop using the palette.
What about you? Have you bought this palette?
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
