It’s time for a review on the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner (why can’t it be spelt the right way – freshener =.=) after using it twice a day, every day for about 2 weeks or so. I usually test the product out for about 2 weeks (for skincare) before deciding if it works on my skin.
The Wonder Pore Freshner is labelled as an “Ultra Pore Solution, 10-in-1” that boasts of a plethora of skincare benefits:

-
Refreshes and cool the skin – SOMEWHAT CHECKED!
Basically, comparing to the previous formulation, the Wonder Pore Freshner 7-in-1 (see my short comment on it from my old makeup routine), this formula provides more skincare benefits and in my opinion worked a lot better for my skin. Here are the 2 products I received from Etude House Singapore.
The Wonder Pore Freshner is a cool and refreshing formula with a light fragrance to it that removes my leftover makeup after cleansing, using the exfoliating cotton pad that came with it. The formula also minimised my pores in general as they look slightly visibly smaller (need to test it longer to see if it really works) and with the cotton pad, it actually helps in getting rid of impurities and dead skin cells! It contains Mint Vinegar to act as an astringent to shrink pores and tighten the skin while providing strong antibacterial and purifying effects.
To use, just take a cotton pad and press it on the nozzle on top to dispense the solution and you’re ready to wipe it all over your face!
Before I started using this, I wanted to find out more from the Etude House beauty advisor’s point of view, thus I went to the outlet nearest to my house at Jurong Point to consult the BA on this. What the friendly and helpful BA told me was that I should use this whenever I can, especially before and after mask application as the toner will aid in absorbing of skincare products more quickly. I followed the instructions and proceeded to test this out.
In all honesty, I am sitting on the fence for this one because of the fact that it doesn’t promise you all 10 benefits it claims to do. Being one with extremely huge pores, I didn’t think that this would be a “wonder” product in shrinking my pore size. However, it does control sebum very well in my opinion but due to having combination skin (oily on the T-Zone, dry on the cheek areas), I find that consistent use of this toner actually made my skin pretty dry and my makeup tends to be flaky throughout the day. One advice to using this if you don’t have super oily skin is to pile up on your hydrating moisturisers and essences in the event it dries up your skin due to the alcohol content in it.
What I do like about this toner besides controlling the oil on my skin is the effect it gives when used with the cotton pad! The cotton pads that came along with the toner, are thicker in material with one side being netted (exfoliating) and the other being the normal cotton. The cotton pad allows exfoliating of dead skin cells and removal of impurities and dirt within pores because I can visibly see the dirt left on the cotton pad after wiping (I hope you can see the dirty areas with black fabric particles from my black cotton T-shirt).
Overall, I am not very impressed with the product as it doesn’t do what it claims to do on my skin other than those I have pointed out. If you are someone with 1) oily skin concerns who 2) doesn’t mind the alcohol content, then this might be the toner you are searching for!
Hope this review helps you make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase this toner. It retails for S$32 in all Etude House stores from 12 September 2014 onwards.
Create yourself and be gorgeous, girls! ♡
