These days with the crazy weather all around the world, especially in our little sunny island, our skin is piqued with problems of discolouration, be it hyper-pigmentation, dark spots, acne scarring etc. All we hope for is for an even and brighter skin tone, given the slew of products in the market today targeting at radiance-enhancing and brightening, right?

Well, for the first time ever, device and formulation synergistically come together to combat all of those problems! Clarisonic, the pioneer in sonic cleansing, has launched its latest breakthrough in transformative skincare: the Sonic Radiance Brightening Solution!

The range consists of a Skin Illuminating Cleanser, a Brightening Activator Serum, a Skin Renewing Essence Boost and naturally, a new brush head, the Radiance Brush Head.

 

The Radiance Brush Head was the one that got me excited because you know me, I love dense and fine bristles when it comes to cleansing my sensitive skin (see my review on the Deep Pore Range here). Specifically engineered with softer, denser and extra fine bristles, this uniquely designed and patented spot and dullness-fighting brush head seeks to deliver a comforting experience while cleansing effectively. I find this softer than the Deep Pore brush head (DPBH) and after using it for a week, I have kind of casted my DPBH aside already…

With a new brush head comes a brand new cleanser – Skin Illuminating Cleanser – specifically formulated for use with the Clarisonic cleansing device and Radiance Brush Head. The high-foaming gentle cleansing properties combined with the pigment-balancing activity of liquorice seeks to brighten and even out skin tone while removing impurities. Key ingredients such as peppermint leaf extract and ginkgo biloba leaf extract soothe skin and increase circulation for a more radiant, healthier complexion.

With only one cleanse, you’ll be able to visibly see that your skin is brighter and clearer and I love the feeling that it gives, that pristine yet moisturised feel, if you get what I mean. It has quickly secured its place in my skincare regime even when I don’t use the Clarisonic device (see it in my April Favourites here)!

This rich and luxurious cleansing milk is textured more watery compared to usual cleansers. Just one small drop and you can see that it spreads faster than I could capture the initial size. Since the product comes in a squeeze tube, I find that the viscosity of the product tends to make a mess so try to store it upside down to prevent it from messing up the inside of the cap. Perhaps a dispenser would work better for this.

No skincare regime is complete without toner and serum.

The Skin Renewing Essence Boost in the range works like a toner in my opinion. The essence water is intensely hydrating and it features ingredients such as antioxidant Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), Lactic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Licorice Extract and Peppermint Extract to aid in smoothing and retexturing the skin for a more radiant, healthier-looking complexion.

Since it is formulated for daily use, the light texture makes it easy to do so and it’s said to hydrate the skin for up to 8 hours while refining the skin tone by diminishing discoloration and improving the skin’s elasticity. I personally find that it hydrates pretty well but in terms of diminishing discolouration, I believe results will start to show if you use it long enough.

Another of my favourite in this range is the Brightening Activator Serum, one that packs a punch with powerful de-pigmentation ingredients, Ellagic Acid and Phenylethyl Resorcinol. Clinically proven, the serum provide intense hydration and helps reduce synthesis of melanin and lighten dark spots, age spots and acne-induced discolouration when applied each day and night.

I wouldn’t say that this is a miracle product but I did see slight improvements to my skin tone as it lightened some of my hyper-pigmentation over a few weeks. What I do like is that it absorbs quickly and does not leave a residue of any sort.
