Go lip-crazy with Palladio Herbal Lip Gloss & Velvet Matte Cream Lip Color: Review, Swatches & Makeup Looks

Palladio Makeup Review
Summer’s the time of the year where you’ll go crazy and funky with your makeup! Rock that bright coral lipstick you’ve always wanted to wear but don’t dare! It’s the time to sport whacky fun shades you’ve never tried. For all you lion city dwellers, be delighted as a new makeup brand is hitting our drugstores – Palladio Beauty!
Uniquely Palladio, its products are made with herbs and vitamins, among which, contain antioxidants such as Ginseng, Green Tea, Gingko Biloba, Vitamin E, natural humectants and skin soothers such as Aloe Vera and Chamomile. Sounds unbelievable already?
Specifically for the introduction of Palladio into Singapore, I’m going to focus on two range of lip products, mainly the Herbal Lip Gloss and Velvet Matte Cream Lip Color.
Palladio Herbal Lip Gloss feature oil-based formulas rich in Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to help soften and moisturise lips. I guess the word “herbal” comes from the fact that it contains herbs such as Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract and Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract.

PSST! FREE LIPSTICK EXCHANGE, DETAILS AT THE END! 🙂

This lip gloss is pretty comfortable to wear and it’s not too sticky. I find that the formula of the lip glosses are slighty thicker with a more opaque colour payoff than usual lip glosses in the market. Unsurprisingly, it has a doe-foot wand for application.
There are altogether 12 shades but I have picked out five, one from each shade family, just to test out the texture and shade intensity. I really enjoyed this one, even though it might be a tad thicker than I expected the formula to be. The beautiful shiny finish when worn alone or over your favorite lipstick is going to turn your average lips into stunning pair of kissers though.
From L-R:
  • Orange You Glad – sweet juicy pale orange
  • Rose Brown – dusty mauvy brown
  • Heart Throb – classic true red
  • Va-Va-Violet – true lavender-violet
  • Truth Or Dare – mauvy deep pink

With hand swatches, it’s never enough because you’ll never know how the shade looks like on your lips! Here are lip swatches and how I look when the lip glosses are worn.
(Look at the high shine and colour intensities!)
My favourite shades are Rose Brown, Heart Throb and Truth Or Dare. Heart Throb in my opinion is very flattering and it immediately gives you that glamorous feel. On the other hand, Rose Brown and Truth Or Dare makes you look put-together without being too over the top. Which one of the five lip gloss shades resonate with you? 😛
Having talked all about the merits of the lip gloss, I hope you haven’t forgotten about the the Palladio Velvet Matte Cream Lip Color! The matte liquid lipstick is killing the makeup scene right now. We’ve seen the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kit, Too Faced Melted Mattes and many more. What about a more affordable alternative if you’re looking to own more than one shade in the world of the liquid mattes?
Look for a drugstore alternative, of course! The Velvet Matte from Palladio, at its price tag, is a gift from heaven. With its lush creamy lip colour with a soft, rich matte finish, you’ll be exhilarated to know that this stuff’s comparable to all the other liquid mattes out there.
This velvety, full-coverage lip colour is lightweight super long-lastng. Additionally, as with Palladio’s products, the forumla is enriched with vitamin E and aloe vera, and botanical and vitamin infused. It’s paraben-free too.
(Yep, another doe-foot wand with a shorter stick for better control)
There are 12 shades as well and I have six I picked out which are good for everyday use, depending on the occasion you’re having. The shades from left to right are:
  • Jacquard – vibrant pink coral
  • Raw Silk – nude
  • Panne – chilli red
  • Plush – deep fuchsia pink
  • Suede – mauvy brown
  • Brocade – mauvy deep pink

My picks from these are Raw Silk, Suede and Brocade. Perhaps it’s me but there’s something about liquid matte nude shades which deeply attracts me. The formula, though is matte, is not as drying as I imagined it to be. It does not make my lips peel which is a good sign, but with time, the tends to feel cakey. That’s just how liquid matte lipsticks turn out for me though.
Oh and another thing about the doe-foot applicator – it actually helps in precise application in terms of lining the lips. No mess encountered.
Which one do you think looks good on me? 😉
