Do you remember my holy grail foundation of all time? If you’re thinking of Estée Lauder, then you are on the right track! It’s the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup liquid foundation! If you think that it’s too messy and troublesome to bring along, you can now do so with Estée Lauder’s new compact – Double Wear Makeup To Go Liquid Compact!
With an impressive 8-hour wear, the Double Wear formula goes a long way for women on the go, especially working office ladies.
The foundation is a multi-action formula that features its long-wearing properties, with an infused hydrating and smoothing complex, all packed in an easy-to-travel dark blue compact. The key ingredients include:
- Tri-Moisture Complex of Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, Muru Muru Butter – replenishes moisture and locks in hydration for the skin
- Skin Smoothing Complex of Argireline & Milk Thistle Extract – minimise appearance of wrinkles and fine lines for a effortlessly flawless complexion
The compact also comes with a makeup sponge. I’ve tried using the sponge but I feel that it absorbs more product than it does in helping me to spread onto my skin. I prefer using my buffing brush for this. No doubt, the sponge is essential in helping to absorb any accidental spillage/excess liquid, but I feel that it’s not as functional as it’s supposed to be.
Effortlessly with the push of a button, the liquid foundation is being dispensed onto the centre of the compact. You’re supposed to press once for light coverage, and twice for medium coverage. With such a creative innovation, you no longer need to worry about having your foundation spill/crack in your bag! It’s so portable and spill-proof!
Formula-wise, I love it, especially how hydrating it feels on my skin. The previous Double Wear formula wow-ed me with its non-oily and lasting finish which I really enjoyed (and am still enjoying) and this one’s no different!
However, in terms of coverage, I would say that this has less coverage than the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup. I find that after 2 layers, I still could see several red acne spots on my skin that’s not totally concealed. Pardon the crazy redness on my skin because it’s reacting badly towards the immense haze here.
