We all have a boxful or rather, a room-ful of makeup items, don’t we? All the new purchases from the Summer, Fall and the upcoming Christmas/Winter collections are making us spoilt for choices! With so many choices, what if, you could only pick 5 to live for the rest of your life from your makeup collection, what would you pick?
For me, I’m a sucker for eyeshadow palettes, especially from Urban Decay, so I cannot live without my eyeshadows! Hehe, so let’s dig into my 5 choices that I narrowed down! I honestly stared at my stuff, flipped open the drawers and all for so long before I decided on these.
Yes you have it, my holy grail foundation with defined brows, lots of colours to play with, naturally-flushed cheeks and moisturised lips with a healthy pink tint! These are my picks for a perfect face of makeup – no matter whether I’m stranded on the island with nothing else but these 5 items or not! 😀 Vain Roanna is vain!
As I have a face full of acne scars (sadly) with oily/combination skin, an oil-free foundation is a must-have for me. I love my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Fresco! MY HOLY GRAIL! Usually I mix it with a bit of Tawny to get my shade but I can live without Tawny if I were to choose 1 between the 2. Basically, this foundie doesn’t break me out and I love it for its coverage – sheer to medium/full depending on how much layering. I still usually need my trusty concealer to cover some darker pigmentation though. (Can you spot the prints fading? This is how much I use it!)
Next up, we’ll do our brows, right? With the shu uemura Hard 9 in Walnut Brown, precision is definitely achieved! This is a definite staple for me because of its “Naginata (Japanese sword)” shape that makes drawing the brows so natural and fuss-free! However, the only thing that bothers me is that you have to bring it back for the store to get it sharpened from the beauty stylists. I kinda learnt how to sharpen it from my colleagues but.. still not enough confidence to do so myself >.<
We have eyeshadows next! 🙂 The Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette! The reason why I chose this palette was because this is the most versatile palette in my entire makeup collection. Just observe from row to row and you’ll see this:
1st Row – Party/Smokey Look
2nd Row – Beach/Tropical Look
3rd Row – Jewel Tones
4th Row – Neutrals
Isn’t it versatile? I can do almost any look with it! With the high quality pigmentation, the eyeshadows are easy to blend as well! I love the fact that there is a matte highlight shade, Habit, as well! I can even use the darker shades like Lovesick and Smokeout as eyeliner!
Moisturise your lips with Dior Addict Lip Glow! 🙂 Hehe, I can’t live without this baby now that I got it! Heard so many reviews and raves about it and I finally understand why! I love the fact that this tinted lip balm is not oily like other lip balms. Instead, the texture is drier and more waxy/balmy, if you get what I mean. Oh, and the marshmallow candy scent makes me feel blissful everytime I use it too!
And of course, finally, Tarte’s 12-Hr Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful! Makes me sooooo blissful using it everytime! It’s a clay blush thus avoid water/moisture in case it hardens/spoils. Other than that, I just love the coral flush it gives me. I like that it isn’t too pigmented and hard to control. In fact, just swirl your brush once or twice and you can have that natural flushed cheeks! Very buildable too!
