Well, I’m not a believer of having concrete resolutions penned down because often, those are probably things you’ll try to achieve only in the first month of the year. For me, it’s about life-long resolutions. I strive to be kinder, to broaden my vision, to watch out for new opportunities that’ll come knocking on my door and of course, to love myself more!
Loving myself means taking good care of my own well-being and that includes pampering my tresses! Before 2018 ended, I took time to indulge in a Tokio Inkarami Hair Treatment at the MOST Instagrammable hair salon in Singapore – Chez Vous: HideAway.

This next-generation hair styling space is part salon, part sanctuary and part playhouse. Think Stylenanda Pink Hotel! Chez Vous: HideAway is a breakaway from the usual hair styling stations – it is created for one to have an immersive, retreat-like experience. The 1,800 square-foot interior features 7 Instagrammable zones, literally a surprise at every turn! I felt like a kid while navigating through the rooms, each eliciting a different mood.

The Salon
Occupying an unassuming former office space on level 14 of Ngee Ann City, Tower B, Chez Vous: HideAway will first greet you with neon-lit doors before you find yourself stumbling into a Hogwarts-inspired library – one of the many surprises to come.
Re:Charge Relaxation Den
Push through a life-sized framed painting and you’ll land yourself in a luxurious Re:Charge relaxation den with state-of-the-art leather massage chairs equipped with red light scalp therapy and an Oxygen Bar (where you’ll enjoy a cup of herbal tea coupled with spa snacks). I just love how you’ll enter an urban jungle with plenty of foliage right after the old library-themed reception.
Urban Minimalist Loft
Through the den, you’ll then walk into a cavernous urban-minimalist loft with a quirky “green” bathtub awash with foliage (some in the form of cushions, haha!) sans the water, of course. Over here, you’ll be able to tuck your worries aside while accomplished maestros – Chez Vous’ highly experienced team headed by Associate Directors, Shawn Chia and Oscar Lee – work on your hair.
Wash Cave
Before you sink into the chair and drift off, you’ll be guided to the Wash Cave to cleanse your tresses. Soak up the therapeutic power of “water” with the amazing digital “aquatic art” projected onto the walls. The projected animation of jellyfish floating in the ocean just makes me feel at ease, and relaxed.
Selfie Backdrops
Finally, you will be brought back to the real world through a turquoise-coloured exit lane, filled with amusing illustrations perfect as selfie backdrops! These illustrations also serve as reminders for us to have fun from time to time!
Rose Quartz Private Room
Oh, and herein also lies a private room for VIPs – The Rose Quartz Private Room. Cocooned in a pale pink haven filled with pink-coloured water in glass jars, this is a place for utter privacy, where you can let all your worldly cares float away.
The Experience
Other than the Instagrammable rooms, what’s interesting for me is that each experience will be accompanied by a bespoke Aromatherapy Journey, where you select an essential oil blend that accompanies you through each step of your hair service, from shampoo to shoulder massage. Other complimentary add-ons include treatments such as plasma-powered scalp rejuvenation, S-ion scalp detoxification and Swedish scalp massage at a ring of a Tibetan Singing Bowl. Bond-strengthening hair shots and a soothing scalp serum will be added before each chemical and colouring service too.
Before the indulgent hair service comes to a restful close, you will experience a shoulder massage accompanied by a heated shoulder pad to perk you up.
