Anyway, to round up June, here are my beauty picks for the month! June was a month of experimenting with new products here and there and discovering new favourites! Let’s go straight into my June 2015 Beauty Favourites, shall we?
I always start with skincare for an obvious reason – skincare should always come before makeup. This is so as to protect and prep your skin for easy makeup application!
It has been insanely warm recently, so much so that I can’t live without a minute in air-conditioning! However, staying too long in aircon can cause skin dryness, even making your skin itch and flake. To counter these potential problems, the Biotherm Life Plankton Essence has been my top pick! I have previously reviewed this here, so I’m just going to say, this essence really does what it claims to do – giving you smoother, softer and more hydrated skin!
As we all know, our brows frame our face. The Erabelle Long Lasting Brow Pencil is my current staple for dark, well-defined brows. It’s shaped like a normal pencil though I wish it could be in a naginata sword shape like the Shu Uemura Hard 9. Why I like it is simply because the other side of the pencil reveals a brow spooly! It isn’t as soft as some spoolies out there but the fact that it has one makes it so convenient to travel with. Full review of it, coupled with how I use the brow pencil can be found here.
No makeup look is complete without eyeshadows! That’s for me, at least. I have with me a deluxe eyeshadow palette with 16 delicious shades – Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. This palette has got to be the most yummy palette because it smells so heavenly with the rich cocoa powder scent! I feel like getting myself some chocolates everytime I use this palette, without fail. That’s how much I love chocolate in my (makeup) diet 😉
Oh, and not to mention, these eyeshadows are luxuriously formulated and finely-milled, giving you good pigmentation and blendability. The shades are mostly neutral, which makes it easy for everyday looks.
My blush of the month goes to… *drumroll* the Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Pink Pop! Isn’t it obvious as to why I love this blush so much? JUST LOOK AT THE GERBERA-DAISY DESIGN. It’s totally self-explanatory, not to mention the lovely pigmentation and shade! This silky smooth, stay-true formula creates a vibrant, healthy-looking glow without a trace of powder residue which I absolutely adore!
And of course, how can we forget the lips? If you’ve been following my Instagram account (@paradeoflove), you’d probably be annoyed at how much I feature this particular liquid lipstick – Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipstick. My pick from the range of 8 is Tu-Tu, a coral nude shade which imparts a subtle gold sheen on the lips. The shade flatters me and quite complements my makeup on most days so undoubtedly, this baby stays in my handbag a lot. I have with me arm and lip swatches of all 8 shades here.
