This year, Laneige has its focus on Sparkling Beauty – to bring out your inner sparkle and shine. To achieve that, you’d need products rich in vitamins and anti-oxidants, one of which is the Laneige Clear-C Advanced Effector.
The Laneige Clear-C Advanced Effector is essentially a toner/essence housed in a baby pink frosted bottle. Like most toners, the texture of this is leaning towards the liquid and watery side with a nice fruity/floral fragrance that keeps you at ease.
I got the chance to try out the essence and it has since been a prime spot in my skincare regime for about 3 weeks now. Formulated with 92.5% Superberry extract – Acerola and Acai Berry extracts – the essence prevents the formulation of pigmentation (e.g. freckles) and helps delay premature signs of aging, giving you a clear and translucent complexion.
However, although Vitamin C and antioxidants are great for the body and skin, they are rather unstable compounds. To prevent the degrading of these compounds, Laneige incorporated a patented Silicium Capture Technology to stabilise and preserve the antioxidative effects contained in that bottle of goodness.
The bottle is complete with a pump for easy dispense of the product. Most toners/essences come in bottles with holes or with droppers, so I do appreciate the pump that this pink bottle came in, for hygiene purposes. It is also made to dispense 2.5ml of the product, the right amount you require for your entire face. How thoughtful, right?
Probably because of the lightweight watery texture, the product gets absorbed into the skin instantaneously, leaving no sticky residue or whatsoever on the skin. In fact, it leaves the skin velvety-smooth and you can feel that the skin is being charged with the moisture it needs (that feeling of plumpiness if you get what I mean).
Laneige is very very thoughtful with this product. Other than having the pump, it comes with markings at the side to let you gauge how many days have you actually used the product for and it serves as a good reminder to repurchase if you are running out!
And that’s not all! Every bottle of the Clear-C Advanced Effector comes with a box of 60 specially-designed cotton pads – Stripe-patterned on one side (for morning use) and silky-textured and dense on the other side (for night use). The purpose of having the 2 sides are for the different uses – morning and night.
After finishing the cotton pads, you could also use a regular cotton pad to apply this product. It also does a good job getting rid of excess dirt or dead skin cells. Due to the lighting, you probably wouldn’t be able to see but the middle area of the cotton pad is tinted slightly yellowish green after wiping on my face.
(With a regular cotton pad…)
Overall, I love this product because of the refreshing feeling it gives me, together with the velvety fresh texture I experience on my skin! I usually like skincare products with light scents so this really work out for me with its light floral/fruity scent (can’t quite pinpoint how this smells exactly like). It’s just calming and makes you feel relaxed. In terms of radiance, I probably have to use it longer to see the effects because my skin is rather prone to clogging, so products for radiance/glowiness take a while to work on my skin.
And well, at S$56, you get a power-packed bottle of antioxidants and vitamins goodness with a box of cotton pads, why not?
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.

I've been tempted to try new skincare but my skin reacts so badly when I do. Does this product contain alcohol? I think my skin doesn't agree with products that do x.x
This product does contain alcohol but it's probably in the 4th or 5th highest in concentration, so I guess it isn't that bad as most toners contain alcohol in the highest concentration next to water.
