Let your inner glow shine with Estée Lauder Genuine Glow collection: Review, Swatches & Makeup Look

Estée Lauder Genuine Glow
“Glow is the essence of beauty.”
– Estée Lauder
Estée Lauder has always been a luxury beauty brand that I am drawn towards despite my lust for funky players like Urban Decay and Too Faced. Ever since my encounter with the famed Double Wear franchise, I’ve been hooked onto several lines within the range of products the brand offers, one of which, is the Advanced Night Repair. Continuing my exploration journey with Estée Lauder, I’ve recently been introduced the Genuine Glow collection.
Drawing inspiration from the dewy and glowy K-beauty makeup trend, the Estée Lauder Genuine Glow presents itself as an effortless hybrid skincare and makeup range dedicated to spark your glow from within. You know the kind of glow she exudes from her passions and zest for life? Yes that rosy, pink glow.

Priming and prepping your skin before makeup is key in ensuring your makeup stays longer, especially in this not-so-sane climate. The Priming Moisture Balm with SPF 15 (SGD67) is an oil-free water fusion balm that perfects, primes and hydrates at the same time.
With light-diffusing technology, imperfections are blurred for you too achieve a satin smooth complexion. There is also an interesting choice of skin-loving ingredients being used in the formula such as:
  • Rice bran protein to help improve hydration
  • Glucosamine to gently refine skin texture
  • Plum and molasses extract to help even out skin tone
  • Natural lecithin to minimise the look of pores and help balance excess oil to reduce shine

Even though it has a texture of a balm, it’s ultra-lightweight, and doesn’t weigh down your skin. It gives a natural glow and diffuses light especially at the high points of the face for a healthy look. We tend to think that products that give you a glowy look will be oily but I like that this doesn’t feel greasy on the skin.
Dark eye circles are annoying, we all know. For a dose of brightness, the Priming Moisture Eye Balm (SGD70), a tri-benefit water fusion balm, is your ideal buddy. You can now look more rested and feel more refreshed as you apply the cooling balm on your eyelids!
Similar to the Moisture Balm, this eye cream is replete with ingredients that you’ll be thankful for:
  • Molasses extract, plum and Vitamin C to brighten dark circles
  • Glucosamine to refine the texture on the delicate eye area
  • Sea Algae blend and Golden Chamomile to help reduce puffiness

I find this eye cream no different from the others I have been using, except that it absorbs really quickly with no greasy residue and other than the fact that it gives you a very slight minty cooling feel when you apply. In terms of efficacy, you’ll probably feel and see the difference in time to come with diligent use.
My top pick from the entire range, the Blushing Creme for lips and cheeks (SGD40), is your go-to blusher! A multi-tasking product, this cream blush stick also doubles up as a lip tint. Effortless pink glow of health can be obtained when you blend the sheer, effervescent colour onto the apples of your cheeks!
Not a fan of cream blushers but this ultra-natural and non-oily formula lets you achieve that wind-kissed outdoorsy glow instantly! It blends super easily without giving you the streaky look. With nourishing hyaluronic acid moisturisers, Vitamin C and F and luminous optics, skin is left looking healthy and fresh, with an added pop of colour.
Available in two universal shades suited to all skin-tones, Sweet Cheeks (coral pink shade) and Peachy Keen (peach-orange shade). I have Sweet Cheeks with me here.
We’re done with the face, eyes and the cheeks, now it’s time to further brighten and highlight with the Eyelighting Creme for eyes and face (SGD33)! Essentially, this is a liquid highlighter that can be used as an eyeshadow too. With a metallic finish, it helps reflects light on the skin and brighten the eyelids with a sheer wash of luminescence.
Just twist to dispense a little and apply it all over the lids or even the high points of the cheeks and blend using the cushion tip for a natural glowy look.
It’s hard to see the swatch on my hand because it blends in seamlessly but you can spot the slight iridescence on the liquid dispensed (shown on the right). Available in three shades, Gleam Glow (pale golden shade), Bare Blush (pale champagne pink shade) and Sweetest Thing (pale light bronze). The shade I’m featuring is Gleam Glow.
No makeup look is complete when you don’t dress up your pale, dry lips! Bring life to your chapped lips with the Reviving Oil Lip Tint (SGD33), an emollient oil glossy cocktail that gives you a a flush of colour, just like when you’ve been kissed.
The lip tint comes with a fascinating slanted rubber tip with five “holes” in which the product is dispensed when you twist the base of the “pen”. Interestingly, the tip is made to allow you to apply the formula onto your lips easily without getting it over your lip lines.
As with Korean makeup, glossy, just-bitten lip look is common and you can achieve that with this lip-saver. It comes in one universal sheer shade that works with any skin tone. When applied, the pH activated stain goes on clear and then blooms into a sweet pink shade to enhance the natural colour of your lips, while smoothing the skin texture. It feels as though your lips got a botox injection because it feels so hydrated and nourished.
Combining all products into one makeup look, here’s me with a super healthy pink glow! It looks natural and not made-up at all, just like a no-makeup makeup look!
The Estée Lauder Genuine Glow collection retails for SGD33-70 (depending on products) and is now available exclusively at all Estée Lauder Sephora counters.
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
