Lip Monthly May 2016: Review

Ever since Bellabox started, I’ve gotten used to receiving a box of surprise every month. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, they’ve stopped Bellabox in Singapore. 🙁 It’s a pity but I’m happy again that I found something new! I’ve been following Lip Monthly on Instagram (@lipmonthly) a while now but never got to try it until the team kindly sent me a surprise last month!
Similar to Bellabox, Lip Monthly is a monthly subscription with experts travelling across the United States to find the best lip products for you! With beautifully designed makeup bags, the team brings you quality products at a fraction of their total costs!

The first product I immediately jumped into is the Dirty Little Secret Lipstick in Vengeance. Dirty Little Secret (DLS) is a U.S. brand founded due to difficulty searching for a highly pigmented, yummy tasting and scented lipstick.
Vengeance is a berry shade and it’s smooth on the lips. I would say, it’s adequately pigmented and smells fruity too. Layer on with a few more swipes to get your desired pigmentation. However, it’s made in China which was a huge disappointment for me.
Continuing the berry-themed shade, the Manna Kadar 3-in-1 Gloss in Manna Babe is coincidentally (or is it not?) complementary to the DLS lipstick. Manna Kadar’s Lip Locked Stains are the latest innovation in lip stains which provide smooth application that also keeps lips hydrated. It’s a lip gloss, primer, and stain all in one product!
What I like is that the product contains Vitamin A & E and Berry Extract to keep lips nourished and what’s more, it’s paraben-free and allergy-tested too! Manna Babe is a berry fuchsia pink shade I really love! After all, berry shades are my first loves 😉
Also in the bag is a unique gel for lip and cheek. The So Susan Jello Shot Rosy Cheek & Lip Gel is a gel-stain hybrid formula infused with its Heat Shift™ technology. Upon contact onto the skin, a healthy and rosy flush can be expected, with the shade varying according to your body temperature.
It appears to be an intimidating orange, but it really is a sweet coral shade when applied. The best part? It’s vegan, and does not contain mineral oil, parabens, phthalates and gluten. Hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, you won’t have to worry about breaking out from it.
Although the last product contained isn’t a lip product, it’s one of Jor’el Parker’s flagship product. The Jor’el Parker Fango Mud Therapy is infused with a blend of moisturising and exfoliating antioxidants that will leave you with seriously soft skin. It feels pretty cooling on the skin and the size of it is perfect for travelling!
Here are swatches for all the products in May’s Lip Monthly bag. Aren’t they beautiful shades? I especially love the coral flush from the lip and cheek stain! Simply gorgeous.
Why not gift yourself or your best girlfriend a unique experience each month? Whether it be lip gloss, lipstick or lip stains, Lip Monthly sends you a curated box filled with all of the above-mentioned every month, so you don’t have to worry about replacing them!
