“Lisa, if I’ve learned anything, it’s that life is just one crushing defeat after another until you just wish Flanders was dead.” – The Simpsons.
Honestly, I have never watched nor read anything from The Simpsons series, but I thought this packaging from MAC is really adorable, hence I had to lay my hands on them! 😀 Heard that the collection was selling out fast at all MAC stores in Singapore so I was really happy to be able to purchase these from the US web itself, all thanks to my dear IG friend Sylvia (@syloft)! Without further ado, let’s look into the items I got!
Just look at the lovely packaging! The palette actually feels heavy, and I mistook it for being metal! Also, I like that the design is printed on, not like a cheap sticker, such quality! I think this may be one of the few collections that I do keep the packaging boxes intact too! 😀
Okay and so, here are my loots! Just a humble one with an eyeshadow palette – That Trillion Dollar Look and a pink blush – Pink Sprinkles (my first blush from MAC). Both items have Marge’s hair and eyes on the pigments, engraved.
Initially, I was still contemplating should I get Marge’s Extra Ingredients Eyeshadow Quad or That Trillion Dollar Look Eyeshadow Quad, but ultimately, TTDL came home with me because of the uniqueness of the shades. Interestingly, even though it’s a full palette of greens/olives/teals, which made me apprehensive on how to create a look with it but trying the colours out made me change my mindset! Here’s a closer look at the individual items…
My favourite shades from this palette has got to be Apple Squishee and 2 Dozen & 1 Greyhounds (the name is wayyyyyyy too long for an eyeshadow, honestly). I love that Apple Squishee is a true granny smith green and it shows up pretty much true to the pigment in the pan. As for 2 Dozen & 1 Greyhounds, I like it for the fact that it’s a gorgeous olive gold shade to be placed in the middle of the eyelid (if you know what I’m talking about).
Pink Sprinkles is basically a pink blush that isn’t too pigmented, but buildable if you need to. I got this instead of Sideshow You because of the fact that I have more variety when it comes to coral blushers.
Swatches time! Let’s see how they fare in terms of pigmentation, shall we?
As you can see in the above swatches (taken with a DSLR), the shades aren’t all that pigmented, which is a blessing in disguise. I personally prefer blushers that are not too pigmented so that I can swirl my brush in and blend up the colour on my cheeks if need be. As for the eyeshadows, the most pigmented shades are my 2 favourites, Apple Squishee and 2 Dozen & 1 Greyhounds. Personally, I prefer very pigmented and buttery smooth eyeshadows like that of Urban Decay’s, however, with such crazy colours, the level of pigmentation in my opinion is just right to create a green-eyes look without being over the top.
Below are pictures I attempted to take for the makeup look created using solely these products.
See how natural it can look with this palette! (Please pardon my poor complexion, it has honestly improved a whole lot!)

And finally, here’s some selfies to end off the post! Hope you enjoyed my makeup look! 😀 Let me know in the comments below what do you think of this collection!
