Make an impression this Fall 2016 with Make Up Store’s Porcelain Collection: Review, Swatches & Makeup Look

Make Up Store's Porcelain Collection
Porcelain.
/ˈpɔːslɪn; -leɪn; ˈpɔːsə-/
Adjective: To describe skin that’s naturally smooth, fair, without a hint of blemish; translucent with minimal eyeshadow, subtle blush with thin eyeliner.
Drawing inspiration from the caressing heat of summer and the intricate details on Lisbon tiles, the Make Up Store Porcelaincollection brings you vibrant colours of the Atlantic Ocean, an azure turquoise blue, a stunning contrast to sun-kissed skin in a shade of terracotta.
With full focus on the eye makeup, a marriage between warm and cold where bronze and blue are key, this fall is not going to be your typical. Bare skin, blue lids and nude lips – the way to go.

Make Up Store’s Porcelain celebrates bare, nude skin. Keeping the skin as clean as possible, not forgetting to let the skin shine and radiate naturally, we have with us the Glow Compact Powder in Translucent and Blotting Powder in Porcelain.
Glow Compact Powder in Translucent, by the name, is a pressed face powder dedicated to give you that subtle highlight on the skin. With tiny micro-shimmers in the light, finely-milled powder, you’ll be sure to have matte and shine-free complexion with fine lines and pores concealed! To further enhance the high points on the face such as the cheek bones, take a fluffy brush and apply generously for that extra highlight!
On the other hand, for your touch-up during the day, the Blotting Powder in Porcelain will be your best friend. The silky smooth and colourless translucent pressed powder is designed to provide shine control without messing up with your makeup. The white powder does not provide any form of coverage nor visible colour while absorbing excess oil instantly, reducing shine on the skin. Ideal for all skin tones!
Both powders come in pristine white Lisbon-tiles influenced packaging, with a beautiful embossing on the powder itself. You might think that the embossing resembles crocodile skin, but in fact, it is inspired by body cells, since makeup is close to the skin. Get the idea?

Fall is all about darker lips and the current trend is leaning towards browns and nudes, away from the usual deep berries. The Lipstick in Belleis perfect as the true nude takes the back seat in the Porcelain makeup look. Not competing with the strong eye makeup, this soft and creamy lipstick drenched in croco/cells embossing, delivers just the right amount of colour that doesn’t wash you out. It’s also made with avocado oil, shea butter and jojoba to ensure that your lips stay moisturised throughout.
Notice the unique shape of the bullet? It’s tapered and meant to help you define the lip shape, especially the cupid’s bow area. For a matte finish, simply pat the Blotting Powder over the lips and voila, there you have it, a brand new matte lippie that’s long-lasting.

When it comes to eyeshadows, blue has always been an intimidating shade to use due to its strong contrasting hue to our skin. I never knew I could work an electric blue shade without feeling over the top, let alone rock it in my daily makeup. The Eyedust in Mist, housed in a clear cube with a Lisbon tile-printed cap, is a highly pigmented loose pigment for the eyes, which, surprisingly, adds life to the eye makeup without looking like you’re preparing for theatrical acts.
The limited edition shade has got a beautiful shimmer and can be used in multiple ways:
  • Patted onto the eyelids dry with a regular eyeshadow brush for a soft and natural look
  • Pressed onto the eyelids with a damp brush for a stronger, metallic look
  • Added with a mixing medium to be turned into a metallic waterproof eyeliner

Having said all these, let the eye makeup do the talking! On the eyes, I’ve used a matte nude shade all over and a soft matte taupe on the crease, followed by enhancing the outer corners with the Eyedust in Mist. The trick is to work the colour onto the outer corner bit by bit, layer by layer, so that you are able to control the intensity you desire.
Voila! How is my porcelain look? I’ve kept everything else natural to bring out the blue as well as the nude on the lips.
The Limited Edition Porcelain Collection is available in Make Up Store boutiques, in limited quantities. Get your hands on them before they fly off the shelves!
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
