Greetings my lovelies, it’s been a week since I last reviewed anything and I am back with a post full of vibrant colours and textures! It’s a pop of colours with Clinique‘s makeup line! There’s something for the eyes, cheeks and even the lips!

For the ones who have not been acquainted to the brand, Clinique is a beauty brand that is deeply rooted in their dermatological heritage. From skincare to colour, every product is customised for all skin types and concerns. Even for their makeup, every Clinique eyeshadow and mascara is ophthalmologist tested. The lip colours are loaded with do-gooders like moisturisers to keep your lips looking soft and supple.

Today I have the Clinique Lid Pop, Cheek Pop, Pop™ Lip Colour + Primer and the Pop Glaze™ Sheer Lip Colour + Primer on review.

Starting off with the hot favourite, the Cheek Pop! It comes in a round transparent plastic casing which is simple for viewing the colour. For obvious reasons, this blush is a must-have! Other than its exquisite gerbera-daisy embossing which got me captivated at first sight, the formula is silky smooth and virtually powderless.

The blush in the pan may look super pigmented and vibrant, but it literally gives you a natural-looking cheek colour that looks like you’ve just been pinched. The silky smooth formula also ensures that you don’t get powder stirring up with you swirl your brush in it.

I have with me three shades, basically a peach, a pink and a lilac:

Embossed with the same gerbera-daisy detail are the NEW Lid Pop eyeshadows! They are really silky and long-wearing. The packaging is exactly the same as the Cheek Pops but only about 40% smaller in size. I have 5 shades here to show you which will be accompanied by two makeup looks.

Beautiful details just make my heart beat so fast. How can anyone resist dipping her brush in such gorgeous details?

As with the Cheek Pop, these Lid Pop eyeshadows build and blend really easily to a customisable level of intensity. Formulated for sensitive eyes, it’s safe for contact lens wearers too. I find that the formula is really silky but doesn’t transfer to the brush that well. I prefer using my finger tips to apply these. Unless you are perfectly fine with damaging the embossed details by going really strong-handed, if not, using your finger tips will do the trick as well.

With these colours, I’ve created two Summer makeup looks to share with you! One has got a pop of colour on the lower lash line for a vibrant beach-lovin’ look whereas the other focuses on sweet pinks and violets for that sweet next-door-girl look.

– Blend Cream Pop all over eyelids and on the inner side of the lower lash line (as directed)

– Apply Cocoa Pop in the crease and outer V to intensify the look

– Line the outer part of the lower lash line with Aqua Pop to get that pop of playful fun!

– Blend Petal Pop all over eyelids and on the inner side of the lower lash line (as directed)

– Apply Grape Pop in the crease and outer V to intensify the look

– Line the outer part of the lower lash line with Cocoa Pop to deepen the lash line and define the eyes further

To complement both makeup looks, I’ve actually paired them with 2 different lipsticks – Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer (top) and Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour + Primer (bottom). Gosh, the names are too long to remember!

Anyway, I personally am a fan of their lipsticks packaging. I mean, it’s easy to identify the colours, and the compact tube makes it convenient to store or bring along. When capping it, the cap slides in firmly and shuts tightly to prevent any accidental uplift of the cap.

The Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer is a regular lipstick with high pigmentation, hence the colour block is in a solid shade of its lipstick colour. Luxurious yet weightless, the formula merges bold, saturated colour with a smoothing primer that helps you to glide the bullet on effortlessly to a modern-velvet finish. The colour stays true and keeps the lips comfortably moisturised for about 8 hours or so. It’s allergy tested and 100% fragrance free so it’s relatively safe for anyone to use.

On the other hand, the Clinique Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour + Primer is a sheerer version of the lipstick and hence, the translucent colour on the packaging. This pretty pop of bold yet see-through colour has got a smoothing primer added in its formula too. Just one coat and you’ll achieve that luxurious, weightless and juicy finish. Equally moisturising, this one is a keeper.

You can visibly see the difference in pigmentation for both lipsticks. I really adore the formula. It’s hydrating and doesn’t make your lips flake over time. However, my lips are naturally dry, so it still does form a layer of skin nearer to the inside of my lips, if you get what I mean.
