March 2015 Beauty Favourites: Review

March 2015 Beauty Favourites
What?! It’s April already? But.. I wasn’t ready!
Time really flies. We were still in March but now we’re stepping into the fourth month of year 2015! March for me was pretty much full of ups and downs – I was happy mainly because it was my birthday month yet I was upset a lot of times because of the lack of time my boy had for me, even to celebrate my birthday. The good thing is that they’ve all been resolved now and I guess I just need to learn to reduce my dependence on a person to be happier?
Anyway, here’s a round up of my beauty favourites in March! Everything here is new because I’ve been largely rotating my makeup so as to stick to my resolution for the year 😉
This is the first fragrance that actually made it into my Monthly Beauty Favourites and it’s the  Fuji Green Tea™ Eau de Cologne from from the newly launched range from The Body Shop. Why I really fancy this scent is because it’s delicate and refreshing with the fragrance of green tea, jasmine and bergamot. I received it mid March and I have been reaching for this particular Eau de Cologne every day! It lasts you throughout the day and makes you feel refreshing clean even after a long day. In my opinion, it’s a must-have for any scent lovers!
The second product I’m going to talk about shouldn’t be of a surprise to you if you are aware of my birthday giveaway earlier in mid March. Yes, wake up to smooth, baby skin with this Creme Simon Brightening Detox Restorative Sleeping Mask! The texture is basically a gel-like one with a fresh and powdery scent, indicative of the Brightening Detox range from the brand. What this sleeping mask does is to intensively hydrate your skin overnight so your skin gets all the moisture it needs while repairing itself. Diligently using it almost every night (I use sheet masks when I don’t use this), I feel that there are less occurrences of dry, flaky skin. Two thumbs up! Full review here.
The next is a makeup primer, the Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur. Not a surprise either eh? Even though this product does not really control sebum secretion like it claims to, I still love this because when worn underneath my makeup, it allows my skin to radiate that healthy glow! I’ve mentioned repeatedly the many times I got praised for my radiant skin because of this, so if you haven’t tried it out, please do! It really gives a soft, glowy focus to your skin and you can pretty much wear it alone if you’re heading out for a short while. Full review here.
I realised by now, most of the products I picked out this month was more for radiance, including this Physicians Formula Nude Wear™ Touch of Glow Concealer. I’m still bummed as to why I can’t get Physicians Formula in Singapore because it’s seriously one of the better drugstore brands in the market albeit being slightly more expensive than regular drugstore makeup. I find that no matter what product I use from this brand, I don’t break out at all, perhaps because the products are dermatologist approved, hypoallergenic, paraben/gluten/oil/fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. Anyway, this concealer does a very good job in brightening the under eyes, not so much for spot concealing.
Yay, another radiance-enhancing product – the Guerlain Météorites Compact in 3 Medium. This is the pressed/compact version of the original météorites pearls and what I really love about this is the convenience of it! You can literally bring this along in your makeup pouch and not a big round container instead. The powder gives your skin tone just the right amount of light and correction, hence you’ll  see a subtle and natural effect. I use this as a finishing powder in the last step of my base makeup.
Since finishing powder is a must-have in my makeup routine, I have always been in search for a brush that is large enough yet of appropriate density for sweeping the powder all over my skin. This is it, the 13rushes Powder Brush. It is large and dome-shaped for quick powder application on the face and because it’s so soft, it doesn’t irritate the skin while doing so. One thing I noted was that if you first used this, you might experience some bristle fallout.
I just can’t get enough of Physicians Formula! I’ve been so in love with their Argan Wear Blush in Rose Rush. It honestly isn’t the nicest smelling blush because of the strong argan scent, but I still love using this because of the natural rosy flush it gives my skin. I’m not quite sure if it is the nourishing properties of the 100% pure Argan Oil but I do notice that my skin feels smooth at the areas of my cheeks where I applied the blusher. I hope my constant usage will not wear out the lovely design is has (the gold overspray’s gone already though).
And the last is none other than one of my ShopandBox purchase – Real Techniques Bold Metals 301 Flat Contour. I love myself some good contour brushes for precise application of my bronzers so I’m constantly on a lookout for such brushes. These softer than ever bristles gives me one of the most luxe feel to date! It’s also weighted for optimal control and comfort so don’t be alarmed by its heavier-than-normal-brushes weight. I find that even though it’s very dense, it’s easy to blend bronzers onto the skin, even with especially pigmented ones. You won’t have to worry about the harsh lines on your skin with this brush! 😉 One downside is the metal handle that is a total fingerprints maniac that needs constant cleaning.
Are there any products you’ve used in March that you recommend? Let me know!
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
