It’s been a while, lovelies! Now that we have a lot of time to spare staying at home, how have you been coping? For me, it’s been a tough one differentiating weekends from weekdays. I found that a good way to do so is to find a project to embark on every weekend, and for this weekend, it’s Build-a-Terrarium time with Masons Home Décor!
If you love low maintenance plants like I do, a terrarium is great for you. With easy-to-care-for succulents as the main greens, a terrarium is practically fuss-free because you only need to water them once a week! Terrariums make for great home décor as well as they are pretty zen looking.
What’s in the Masons Premium DIY Terrarium Kit?
C/o of Masons Home Décor, I got my boyfriend to build a terrarium with me as part of our little bonding project last weekend. If you’re clueless as to what goes inside a terrarium, you can check out the DIY kits that contain the following:
- 1 glass bowl
- 1 set of gardening tools
- 1 bag mix soil
- 3 pots of succulents
- 3 bags of decorative pebbles
- 1 drip bottle
- 1 bag of figurines
- 1 bag of decorative stones
How to build a Terrarium?
Well, building a terrarium is as easy as maintaining it, I guarantee! It’s so simple that you can even do this with young kids. All you need to do is to:
- Fill the bottom of the glass bowl with a layer of pebbles
- Empty the soil packet to create a thick soil layer
- Dig some holes to plant the succulents
- Layer small pebbles to cover the soil layer
- Decorate with the cute flamingo figurines and large stones
Isn’t it simple? We took a good 15 minutes to get it together and arranging the plants to our liking. It’s now sitting nicely at home below my TV. I’m a proud plant mummy now!
How to care for a Terrarium?
As mentioned, it’s super easy to maintain this open terrarium. With the drip bottle provided, we only need to water the soil around the succulents once a week. If you’re too lazy to build your own, Masons Home Décor has got some ready-made ones available too!
Overall Thoughts
All in all, we had fun building this terrarium and I like that the kit has got all the materials required, including an online manual if you need something to refer to.
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
