Have you ever imagined yourself being in a candy factory with tons and tons of chocolates and treats around you? I have, but the fact remains that I have never truly been in a candy manufacturer’s. Well, now I’m all grown up, what do you know? I so feel like I’m Charlie in a chocolate factory with these Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipsticks!
Too Faced’s best-selling Melted and Melted Metal Liquified Lipsticks just went through the candy factory for a delectable makeover and poof! You have SIX new cocoa-powder-infused shades that ACTUALLY smell like chocolate!
Sounds inviting and yummy already? 😉 Let’s dive right into exploring all six shades, shall we?
If you’re familiar with the Melted lipsticks, you’d know that they deliver intense, high-impact saturation with high shine without drying out the lips. With its angled velvet tip, you’d have no troubles at all for precise application. Fuss-free and easy, that’s what the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are made to be.
Did I already say that they smell like chocolate? Yes I did! These chocolatey shades contain antioxidant-rich cocoa powder and a mood-boosting chocolate scent to give you the ultimate chocolate craving when you apply them on. No seriously, it makes me want to eat chocolate all the time just smelling these.
Anyway, the slanted tip contains six tiny holes to dispense the liquid lipstick and with the velvet material, the extra product gets absorbed, preventing over application.
There are in total, six tantalising shades, three from the original cream formula and the other three in the new metallic formula. The ones in the original full-coloured cream consistency are Chocolate Milkshake, Chocolate Honey and Chocolate Cherries.
On the other hand, Metallic Candy Bar, Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate and Metallic Chocolate Diamonds are formulated just like the Melted Metal ones.
I would love to start raving about how these shades work for me and go on and on about how amazing they are but unfortunately, they don’t seem to work on my skin tone. Except  for one, the pinkier nude, Chocolate Milkshake, which is my favourite of the lot, the rest just seemed to dull my complexion. Okay maybe Chocolate Honey works as well as a true nude on my lips.
Perhaps it’s not really very Asian to wear these brown nudes that these shades just don’t flatter. I’m not too sure if it would work for lighter skin tones but I’ve seen fair-skinned girls rock these shades while searching for information online. It’s really a hit or miss, depending on how you wear them.
In any case, here are swatches of all of them on the arm:
- Chocolate Milkshake – light nude peach
- Chocolate Honey – brown-tinted nude
- Chocolate Cherries – deep reddened brown-burgundy
- Metallic Candy Bar – metallic coffee brown
- Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate – metallic dusty rose brown
- Metallic Chocolate Diamonds – metallic light taupe with silver glitter
And on the lips.
In general, the Chocolate (original formula) shades are much more pigmented and long-wearing as compared to the Metallic ones. The Metallic ones have thinner formulas with a good deal of glitter and sheen, thus fading away much faster. On my lips. you can tell that the Chocolate shades make my lips look so much smoother. I feel that the Metallics look more frosty and on photos, accentuated my lip lines.
And, can you see how much glitter is in Metallic Chocolate Diamonds?! I had a hard time removing the glitter stuck on my lips. In my opinion, the metallic shades would be great when used to highlight the centre of the lips to make lips appear fuller.
Honestly speaking, I love the formula. Have always loved the consistency of these Melted lipsticks, the texture and how they appear when worn, but I have to say that these shades aren’t getting into my books. If I could, I would eat them. They smell so heavenly I swear you need to take a whiff for yourself.
Oh oh, pair them with the iconic Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes, Cocoa Powder Foundation, Chocolate Soleil or Cocoa Contour for the ultimate chocolate experience! You’ll definitely be a walking chocolate bar.
The Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipsticks retail for S$30 and will be available from March onwards in Sephora Singapore stores.
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
