Hello hello Monday! 🙂
It’s such a lazy Monday for me at home today hence I decided to pick up some of my favourite nude lipsticks to review. I haven’t been reaching out for brights and vibrants these days, probably because I wasn’t feeling at my best but nevertheless, I found some really pretty nudes that I’m starting to love! Here are 7 narrowed down from my collection.
From L-R
Revlon Lip Butter – Peach Parfait
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – Lovelight
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine – 15 Corail Intuitive
shu uemura Rouge Unlimited – BG931
Etude House Etoinette Cystal Shine Lips – PBE001
Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour – Glinda
Revlon Lip Butter – Macaroon
Basically, these nude lipsticks are pretty similar when worn on my lips, partially because my lips are rather dark in colour. However, there are 2 which I am loving very much – shu uemura BG931 (MLBB, towards the pink side) and YSL RVS 15 Corail Intuitive (nude pale peach).
Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour – Glinda
This lip pencil comes from the Urban Decay Glinda Palette and it’s a brown neutral nude with a sheen to it. When applied, it feels smooth and creamy yet not too oily. However, the lasting power is not that strong.
Revlon Lip Butter – Macaroon & Peach Parfait
The revolutionary lip butters from Revlon are moisturising but not long-lasting. I often find myself reaching for these whenever I am running for errands and just need a wash of colour on my lips. Macaroon is a plum nude while Peach Parfait is a peach nude with shimmers.
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – Lovelight
Lovelight is a light nude with gold microshimmers (non-existent when applied on lips). I find this shade pretty sheer and less moisturising. I usually apply a lip balm before this.
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine – 15 Corail Intuitive
My favourite peach nude shade! Even though it isn’t long-lasting, I always find myself reaching for this because the scent of peaches never fails to lift my mood! A great staple to have though I know quite a lot of people didn’t really like this due to the sheer-ness of it.
shu uemura Rouge Unlimited – BG931
Another recent favourite because this glides on so easily! Richly pigmented, the Japanese really knows how to formulate lipsticks! This nude is a definite staple, as with all other shu uemura lipsticks from the central range. I love this MLBB shade for I don’t even need to apply a lip balm for this! Thumbs up!
Etude House Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips – PBE001
Have been using this for quite some time, though not recently. It’s sheer but provides decent colour for the lips. I used to wear this to school a lot last year and I’m still loving it. However, this isn’t long-lasting and Etude House lipsticks are usually a tad drying. Load up your lip balm for this.
Enough said, time for some swatches!
And I decided to do some lip swatches for these to show you how they look on my lips! They aren’t the best lip swatches because I was literally in my bare face when I did this, so pardon the blemishes around my lips. Some of the shades look really similar on my lips as well.
Hope you enjoyed reading this post on nude lipsticks! Let me know if you have any more recommendations because I would really love to own more nudes!
