A naturally radiant no-makeup makeup look with Neutrogena: Review, Swatches & Makeup Look

no-makeup makeup look with Neutrogena

Sponsored by iHerb

Happy are those days when you wake up with good skin and makeup application seems to be a breeze. I just love it when I can have a naturally radiant complexion with simple makeup to enhance my features instead of having my usual thick high-coverage foundation to cover my blemishes.

One Brand Only Makeup Look

Neutrogena has been a brand that I grew up with, especially with its facial cleansers. The recent launch of their Deep Clean Micellar Gel to Foam Cleansers left me in awe for the superb cleansing properties, and I actually emptied three bottles of it! While the brand is being known for their skincare in Singapore, what left me pleasantly surprised is the range of makeup they carry for you to put together a healthy and natural look. I had lots of fun creating this no-makeup makeup look using the range of Neutrogena makeup c/o iHerb.

All About That Base

After prepping my skin, I head straight for the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Broad Spectrum SPF20 in Light to Neutral, on days I just want to have minimal coverage but a bit of SPF to run errands, or the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF20 in Nude 40 for slightly more coverage. For this look, I’ve gone with the liquid makeup because I wanted more coverage. This silky, lightweight formula provides flawless makeup coverage for a perfectly natural look.

Although the SPF is pretty low for this one, the formula, with an exclusive antioxidant blend, works to provide a luminous and even skin tone, without looking too made up. I like that you can apply a layer, let it set, and then blend in another layer if you want more coverage. Unlike other high coverage foundations, this doesn’t get cakey when you layer, which is great for those looking to have slightly more opacity. However, it would be a lot easier to dispense if the bottle came with a dispenser instead of being open for you to pour the liquid out.

Just for your benefit, I’ve swatched the Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF20 in Nude 40 to let you see how it looks like. It looks fairly thick but blends in nicely into the skin.

Setting The Face

To set the foundation, I used the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends Translucent Oil-Control Powder in 10 Clean. This quad is essentially one product but with four different types of powders to help keep give your skin a natural glow while controlling oil and shine. I love translucent setting powders because I go for matte makeup looks all the time. With this dermatologist-tested powder, enriched with Vitamin C and botanical conditioners, you can easily set your makeup to make it last the whole day while keeping oil and shine at bay.

Life isn’t all rosy, they say, but you can definitely have a rosy complexion! With the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush in Rosy 10, add a bit of life to your skin. Brighten up those cheeks with this natural dusty rose shade, designed for you to instantly enhance your skin’s healthy glow. The powder technology in the blush incorporates advanced gel systems for easy application and a velvety soft feel.

Mesmer-EYES

To enhance the eyes, I opted for the classic browns and taupes just to even out the colour on the eyelids. I chose the Neutrogena Long Wear Eye Shadow in Classic Nude 60, a quad containing shades for a light contouring effect to enhance your features. The eyeshadows contain a built-in primer to help prevent creasing and smudging for long-lasting colour. Tested to provide up to 12 hours of rich, nourishing colour, our formula is also infused with vitamins and skin-nourishing conditioners for the delicate eye area.

The good thing about Neutrogena’s products is that they are all dermatologist-tested, and safe for those with sensitivity issues. There are 6 shades and I chose Classic Nude 60, a universal palette for all skin tones. I must say though, that the eyeshadows aren’t that pigmented as you would get from other makeup brands, but remember, it’s all about enhancing your natural features rather than standing out.

Pucker Up Lips

To complete the look, one can never forget lipstick! I’ve chosen two shades from the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick range, Soft Raspberry 60 and Sweet Watermelon 30 for a very subtle just-bitten kissable lip look. Sweet Watermelon acts like a lip balm for its moisturizing properties and with its shade being very close to the natural lip colour, while Soft Raspberry, a deeper red, is being applied on the inner part of the lips for that gradient lip look.

The Completed Look

How do you like this refreshing look from my usual style? I really love how natural the makeup makes me look and this fresh face also makes me feel confident in my own skin. You don’t have to pile on many things to look good. All you need is the right products for you to achieve that!
