Hello beauties! I know that it’s already a few days past Christmas (Merry belated Christmas!) and it’s probably waaaaaaay too dated for a November 2014 Favourites post but I totally just remembered a few days ago so… here is the post for it!
Well, the month of November for me was pretty much hectic due to the fact that I needed to prepare for my exams, so, much of my favourites in the month were leaning towards essentials and neutrals – makeup items that I wear for me to get out of my house.
The first product I am going to talk about is my newfound beauty best friend, the Lumi-Oxy, which is a personal aesthetics device aimed to improve your skin complexion through LED light and Ozone technology (full review here). Honestly, I have never seen so much improvements in my skin ever since my skin broke out and never healed. With the Lumi-Oxy, whenever I am stressed out, especially so during my exams period in November, I do not have to worry about my acne popping out because it does such a good job working with my skincare to handle them! I would say though, that you need to be consistent with the use of this device so as to see the effects.
Ever since I found the Laneige Pore Control BB Cushion, I have since stopped using foundation. I would have to say goodbye to my holy grail foundie (Estee Lauder Double Wear) because I just fell in love with this product for its decent coverage and hydrating properties! The BB Cushion is also very lightweight so you won’t feel that you are wearing much makeup at all, especially important for people like me who wear at least a base makeup all the time. I have medium skin tone, wearing 31 Brown Beige (Tawny for EL Double Wear).
With a good foundation is not enough to get me out of my house usually. To brighten up my complexion, I always dig into my stash of makeup to look for simple and neutral eyeshadows. My favourite for the month of November has got to be the MAC Cosmetics x Brooke Shields Mortal Palette (full review here). It has 5 neutral, everyday shades that are so wearable that you could just pop any shade (except the last maybe) onto your lids as a one-wash! I use the coral shade the most and just apply a bit of the cream shade to the inner corner of the eyes and you’ll look awake instantly!
And for eyeliners, I have to go with the Solone Gel Eyeliner Pencils (full review here)! These are seriously some good stuff with an affordable price tag! They don’t smudge nor budge on the lids and I feel that they are worth checking out because they are quality products that you won’t want to miss! Just a stroke and you are done with your eyeliner!
What’s a complete makeup look without lip products? 😉 I think I have talked about this particular lip balm many many times but yes, my favourite lip balm for November is the Dior Lip Glow! It has been my all-time favourite, simply because it moisturises and I appreciate and like that it isn’t too oily. It is instead in a more balmy texture that doesn’t annoy you (I know some people really hate putting oily lip balms on their lips). The best part? It smells like candy floss/marshmallow! I can’t quite figure out the exact scent but I love it, even though I am not a fan of the colour-changing effect!
Courtesy of my dear friend, Qiyun, I managed to get hold of the Dior Serum de Rouge in 650 Peach. If I am not wrong, Dior doesn’t carry them anymore, sadly. They are very pigmented like lipsticks, yet are very moisturising as well! I really love this shade because it gives life to my lips without being over the top. I carry this in my bag a lot in case I need touch-ups on-the-go.
So this sums up my November 2014 Favourites and I hope you enjoyed this review! I’m sorry it came so late, better late than never, right? 😉 2014 is coming to an end soon, I hope you have made some New Year resolutions for a better year ahead! See you in my next post soon!~
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
