Hello gorgeous! It’s been eons since I’ve used up products huh? It’s like what, a whopping 8 months? I guess I gotta feel thankful and blessed for all the new products that have been coming my way.
Anyway, here’s a round up on several products I have used up over the 8 months, mostly in November. There are some which have been my holy grail for the longest time and I think you wouldn’t feel unfamiliar with them if you have read my previous empties posts.
Let’s dig into my November 2015 Beauty Empties now~
I have been a user of Crème Simon for almost a year now thanks to the team for sending across their products when they first launched in Singapore. I haven’t really featured this much because it has been sitting in my bathroom silently contributing to my skincare regime.
The Crème Simon Brightening Detox Micellar Water Makeup Remover, in my opinion, is an effective makeup remover, gentle enough for most skin types. The mild, floral scent also makes it a joy to use at the end of a long, tiring day. It removes makeup rather effectively, though requires a little bit of soaking for the more stubborn ones like waterproof mascara.
You must be wondering, is she going to be talking about this again?! Teehee, I cannot stress enough how much I love this makeup base. This Etude House Magic Any Cushion in Mint is my to-go makeup base every single day.
Comes in a cushion form, it’s easy to pat on and apply evenly. I chose mint green because my skin is full of redness here and there so having a green makeup base will help cancel out the redness, brightening the skin at the same time. This particular cushion is also super hydrating such that it will give you the glowy moist skin that the Koreans sport! This is the 3rd one I have finished up this year, highly recommend!
There was a period of time last year when I was undergoing massive outbreak and I was searching for spot acne solutions when I stumbled across the Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment. Seriously, the number of words in the name of this product can be used to form a sentence on its own.
This has been with me for more than a year already as you can tell by the yellowish packaging. I don’t find this exceptionally great in dealing with acne. It was very effective at first but my skin got quite used to it that until now, it doesn’t work as well as when I first started using it. I suggest perhaps sharing it with a friend or something by dispensing the liquid into a container so that you won’t waste it. The consistency is very runny as well which takes a little longer to be absorbed.
An absolute must-have in my makeup routine is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This particular tube lasted me for 2 years for some reason. Long-lasting eh, haha! I managed to squeeze out till the very last bit and still retain its packaging. I swear I was going to cut it into half to retrieve the remaining product but this review stopped me 😀
As awesome as what everyone’s raving about, this eyeshadow primer is worth every penny because it blends into the eyelids nicely, making eyeshadow colours pop and last. There’s a reason why I have repurchased it again! 😉
Want your asian short straight lashes to go va va voom? Then this is one of the best mascara for you! The YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Waterproof not only comes in a classy gold packaging, but also contains one of the best formulas I’ve ever tried. It has this fruity mango scent unlike the usual chemical-smelling ones. The formula is not too wet, thus it holds your curls while lengthening and volumnising your lashes.
Though it works perfectly for me, I’m still in a dilemma if I should repurchase such an expensive mascara because I have tons at home I don’t use. Who knows I might be able to find a new love to replace this from my stash? 😉
Ending off with a brow product, the Shu Uemura Eyebrow Manicure in Ash Brown. This is an old version I received when I was an intern in the brand 2 years ago. I only started using this about 3 months ago and now I’ve completely ran out of it! The shade is just right for my brows and it helps to secure my drawn brows for the entire day on my oily skin.
I won’t be repurchasing this because even though it’s quite a good product, I find that there are other cheaper alternatives out there such as from Etude House. Those would be more pocket-friendly while serving the same purpose. There are only that many products I’d splurge on but this is definitely a no for me.
Have you tried any of these products? What else do you recommend?
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
