November/December 2014 Beauty Empties: Review

Whenever I’m about to finish up products, I get very excited! I didn’t used to be happy about it because it means that I need to replenish. But now, finishing up products is my aim because I am starting to venture into new skincare and makeup products.
For the month of November and December 2014, I have used up several products, mostly skincare and I am happy to share with you my thoughts on these!

With so many shampoos in the market, we’re all spoilt for choice I’m sure. If you have frizzy hair like me, I’d definitely recommend the L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Lipidium Instant Resurfacing Shampoo. Scent-wise, it smells a little like men’s cologne, a little floral as well. I can’t quite describe the scent but overall it is rather pleasant-smelling. In terms of its efficacy, I wouldn’t say that this shampoo does it all because in order to tame frizzy hair, other than a good shampoo, an effective conditioner and/or hair mask is needed to complement it. This shampoo is enriched with lipids, ceramides, phyto-keratin and lactic acid, which smoothens and makes my hair silkier. I feel that my hair texture becomes slightly more hydrated and heavier, which makes it less frizzy.
With the Bellabox, I’m always finding myself trying new products. A shampoo-conditioner duo that I brought with me on my holiday is the Petal Fresh Organics Aloe & Citrus Shampoo and Conditioner. I have the travel sizes here (c/o Bellabox) and I must say these smell really light and sweet. The citrus scent makes it very relaxing, however, the conditioner isn’t as moisturising as it claims. The texture of it is not as smooth as the usual conditioners too which is rather weird. I do really love the smell of these though. If you’re interested, I saw a range of the Petal Fresh Organics haircare products in Watsons/Guardian I think (can’t remember which).
The next 2 products I have used up are both from The Body Shop. They are both shower gels with fruity scents.
The first is the Christmas 2014 Glazed Apple Shower Gel. It was a gift from dear Cheryl (@beautifulbuns_sg), thank you! I love fruity scents in my shower gels/body wash and this candy apple scent always make my day! I brought it to Aussie with me as well and finished it there (because it’s such a miniature bottle). I’m probably heading to The Body Shop to get some before they run out of stocks.
Next from The Body Shop’s shower gel range is my all-time favourite, the Raspberry Ripple Bath & Shower Gel. I’m a huge berry lover – I love anything that has got to do with blueberries, blackberries, mulberries, cranberries, and especially raspberries (I don’t fancy any artificial strawberry scent though). With a strong sweet raspberry scent, this shower gel always makes me feel that I am bathing in raspberry syrup! It almost feels like ants will come crawling at me after my shower 😀 This, I will DEFINITELY repurchase.
The last of my empties the past 2 months would be a gel cleanser, the Avene Cleanance Gel, that I had been using since forever! This huge bottle lasted me for more than 6 months and I can’t seem to ever finish using it. Now that it’s finished, I can start on other cleansers! 😀 I wouldn’t say this is the best cleanser for oily skin but I do recommend it if you have oily/blemish-prone skin because it does help to cleanse yet at the same time it maintains the moisture in the skin. It does not dry out the skin as with usual facial wash. I wouldn’t repurchase though, simply because my skin has grown too used to this product.
Overall, I am rather satisfied with all the products here I have used up. I wouldn’t say they are the best (except the shower gels from The Body Shop) but they worked pretty well on me. Have you used any of these? Do let me know your thoughts if you did try any of the above!
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
