As we welcome the Year of the Dog, while we want ourselves to PAWSper, we also want our skin to blossom for this brand new year, don’t we?
Living in Asia, we’re mostly acquainted with Asian skincare brands, or if not, huge international beauty brands that are stocked in Sephora. I don’t know about you but I haven’t been adventurous with my skincare because of my skin sensitivity, thus, was contented with the brands I use/see on a daily basis. However, when the kind team from Lookfantastic approached me with Omorovicza, a Hungarian brand, I was excited, yet nervous at the same time.
<WARNING: INFORMATIVE HONEST REVIEW AHEAD>
Having read up on the history of Omorovicza, I was more compelled to test out the brand. If you didn’t know, Omorovicza was founded by Stephen, a descendant of the noble Omorovicza family, and his wife, Margaret, while they were in Budapest’s ancient spas/baths.
About Omorovicza
Apparently, the Hungarian thermal waters were discovered to have curative properties, which resulted in the first baths being built in present day Budapest. Many of Hungary’s most beautiful thermal baths were built in the 1500s by the occupying Ottoman Turks. They brought to Hungary the traditional Ottoman hammam and built hundreds of baths on the sites of healing springs. Margaret and Stephen were keen to bring Hungary’s enviable beauty heritage to the rest of the world and thus created Omorovicza, incorporating the Hungarian thermal waters in their products.
About Lookfantastic
I have with me the Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask and the award-winning Queen Of Hungary Mist, c/o Lookfantastic. FYI Lookfantastic is the original online British beauty boutique which is now Europe’s #1 Beauty site, supplying some of the leading luxury beauty and hair brands. It has now launched into Singapore with the purpose of bringing us one step closer to these coveted international brands!
I’ve been trying these two products, the Midnight Radiance Mask and the Queen Of Hungary Mist and I am glad to say that so far, they are working well on my skin. No breakouts = positive!
Midnight Radiance Mask
The Midnight Radiance Mask basically is a brightening overnight mask, kinda like sleeping mask. It’s said that you’ll wake up to a radiant glow with this mask and I can totally vouch for that. I wouldn’t say that you’ll wake up with absolutely smooth, poreless and perfect skin with this but definitely, you’ll notice a healthy radiance as if you’ve had more than enough sleep.
The mask is packaged in a matte glass jar and is formulated with active ingredients such as Sand Lily and Salicylic Acid. It has a gel texture that melts into the skin when you apply it. I really like the mild scent it gives off, and that somehow reminds me of a cool breeze by the sea. It apparently also helps to exfoliate while promoting cell renewal, and helps fight hyperpigmentation. With the hydrating gel texture, I find myself not oiling up at all when I wake up. My skin is usually oily when I wake up in the morning but with this, it feels soft and bouncy with a slight shine.
The mask supposedly also helps fight pigmentation but as of now, I still can’t really notice any difference to my post-acne scars so I’m just going to continue with it and observe.
Queen of Hungary Mist
Accompanying my Midnight Radiance Mask regime is the Queen of Hungary Mist. I usually spritz it on my skin before and after applying the radiance mask. This mist also works as a toner. It was inspired by the Queen of Hungary Water, the world’s first recorded perfume, formulated for Queen Elisabeth of Hungary in the 14th century.
I always like to have a bottle of face mist everywhere. I have one in my handbag, vanity table, my office table and my bedside just to freshen up when I need. Thus, a face mist plays a very important role in my skincare routine.
Having tried so many face mists, I wouldn’t firmly say that this award-winning mist is the best for me. I like the neroli and rose scent though that freshens and perks you up. It is probably many’s favourite and I do like it but it doesn’t do fantastic life-changing things for me so… yep!
However, I really do enjoy using this before and after my midnight radiance mask. I think it helps with balancing my skin and create that nice healthy glow. For the price, I believe there are other alternatives out there. However, if you are looking for something luxurious and don’t mind spending a little more, then go for it!
My Overall Thoughts
All in all, I’m really impressed with how these two products have helped balance and hydrate my skin. I’m a firm believer of quality night-time skincare. Hence, I’ve been really impressed by how much more hydrated my skin feels overnight with these two.
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
