Sebum-free skin with Etude House Zero Sebum line: Review

Etude House Zero Sebum line
The top three skincare concerns amongst youths are oily skin, enlarged pores and acne, especially in this tropical climate. These are all attributed to excessive sebum production. To combat these common skin woes, global makeup giant, Etude House, presents the new Zero Sebum Line – a range that helps eliminate sebum so you can enjoy sebum-free skin!
This new range is said to be a complete solution that fights sebum build-up and can be used both pre make-up and post make-up to give your skin that beautiful, matte finish that lasts all day. It also claims to remove sebum build-up with a three prong approach – Remove, Control and Absorb!

To start off the routine, the Zero Sebum White Sebum Clear is to be used after cleansing and toner application. I am quite confused as to what kind of product this is because you are supposed to remove the product with a tissue after 1-2 minutes of application. In my opinion, even though it is said to help remove clumps of sebum in skin, I thought that it might actually cause your skincare applied to be removed as well. This is essentially a peeling cream that quickly and easily dissolves white, bumpy sebum without water. Retails for S$19.90.
After applying your makeup, the Zero Sebum All-Day Matte Gel is what you need for all day long sebum-free skin. It is a finishing gel that contains natural organic grain powder which collects and controls the sebum on the skin. It is easy to use and in my opinion keeps your skin matte for a good 3-5 hours, probably less if you are in the sun. Retails for S$19.90.
The most effective product in my opinion is the Zero Sebum Drying Powder. It is a Pact Powder that absorbs sebum without affecting or caking up your makeup. It contains Natural Mineral Powder (80%) that adheres onto skin texture to prevent caking. Retails for S$13.90.
I find that this is a good powder for touch ups during the day when sebum starts to plaque the skin. It helps mattifies the skin without causing your makeup to slip and slide. However, the way the powder is packaged causes a little bit of messiness while applying. I felt that it would be less of a hassle if it came in a compact form.
Overall, I wasn’t impressed by this range simply because I am one with combination and really oily skin throughout the day and these weren’t able to fully control the sebum on my skin. If your skin type is more towards combination, I feel that the efficacy of the products will suit your skin better.
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
