shu uemura: Tint in Gelato Lip & Cheek Tint Review and Swatches

shu uemura: Tint in Gelato
A review up as promised! This is something different from my usual reviews, because I am currently interning in the brand now. It’s going to my honest opinion about the product, as well as lip swatches I did as part of a digital launch project for the brand.
Being a makeup lover, it’s always fun and exciting when makeup brands come up with colourful launches, especially in the eyes and lips categories for me as I really adore eyeshadows, drawing pencils and lip products! This summer, shu uemura (in small letters, pronounced as shoo-oo-eh-moo-ra) came up with a lip and cheek tint, called Tint in Gelato, just in time to hop onto the bandwagon of where the beauty market is going.

The Tint in Gelato (TIG) comes in a velvety soft semi-matte texture and there are 12 delicious shades as follows:

(Note that in Singapore, shades are by code numbers only)

As someone who has rather dry lips that’ll peel in the day, having a moisturising lip product is what I seek for when I purchase my makeup! Of course, lip balms are my must-haves in my makeup routine before I apply lipstick – it sure helps a whole lot in making sure my lipstick doesn’t dry up my lips.

Of many lip & cheek tints I’ve tried, by far, the TIG is the best I ever had! I love how the tint is very pigmented on the lips when applied, but is able to be blended with fingers to give a sheerer effect! Even though it may dry up a little throughout the day as with any other pigmented lip tints, I like how the colour really stays on my lips throughout unless I remove it with cleansing oil. However, with my medium skin tone, the coral (CR) shades do not seem to suit me as compared to the atelier (AT) and the pink (PK) shades. Try out the colour before you actually buy it!

These are my favourite picks:

AT01 – bright classic red that’s slightly more moisturising than the rest
AT02 – an indulgent berry shade
AT03 – bright vibrant orange
PK01 – hot bright pink (a shade that Kim So Yeon wore in Korean drama “I Need Romance 3”)
PK02 – a muted everyday pink (kind of like an MLBB shade)

Here are the swatches I did for the launch of TIG for shu (lips are my colleague’s!). Almost no colour adjustments were made as the shades are simply stunningly pigmented!

TIG retails for S$38 and you can get them at any shu uemura counters/boutiques. Find out more about the product here.
P.S. Almost all the shades are out of stock so try to contact the counters before you head down to purchase!
Hope you enjoyed this review as much as I enjoyed editing the photos, doing the swatches and writing it!
Create yourself and be gorgeous, girls! ♡
XOXO
