Brands are increasingly upping their game with sun protection care with the environment turning into nothing but a warm sauna! I must say the heat in Singapore has been awfully crazy, especially during midday, hence, ample sun care is important to beat the torridity!
Belif, a true herbal cosmetic brand, has launched its Sun Protection Range, including body care products dedicated for shielding you from the harmful UV rays and to keep you feeling fresh and rejuvenated amidst the warm weather!
First up, we have the UV Protector Leports Shaking Sunscreen SPF50+ PA+++ (S$54). As the name suggests, it’s a powdery-milky type of sunscreen that requires some good, thorough shaking before applying. The sunscreen is light even though it’s powdery, and the formula absorbs into the skin without stickiness and minimal oiliness.
If you haven’t known, my skin is sensitive to most sunblocks, perhaps due to a certain chemical which I haven’t yet discovered. Said to contain noni herb growing in the South Pacific anrchipelago of Polynesia and Hawaii, fortunately for me, this particular sunscreen doesn’t trigger any skin sensitivity! It is suitable for both face and body. Though powdery, no white cast can be seen when applied!
Many may think that as long as we do have sunblock on, we can skip powder. For me, I try to maximise my sun protection with the Almighty Sun Powder (S$43), especially on days when I only wear my BB cream. I’ve talked about this face product for quite some time now and it has appeared in my monthly favourites a couple of times for it works to minimise appearance of sebum on my skin while giving me SPF50+ PA+++. Made from molokhia herb, the finely-milled powder offers sun protection with a soft finish touch. Oh, and it smells a little like lemon biscuits too!
Because it’s Summer, the body needs a little bit more moisturising! The Body Bomba Moisturizing Bomb Cream (S$42) contains comfrey leaf, a key ingredient which keeps dry and tired skin replenished and moisturised. This body moisturiser smells so much like oranges and lemons with its lemon verbena ingredient, giving a refreshed feeling!
The moisturiser is kinda in a creamy yet gel texture that I can’t seem to describe. With the light texture, I was expecting it to be absorbed quickly but it turned out otherwise. It leaves a very slight greasy feel which is definitely not my kind of thing. I do think this will work really well in dry and cold environments and is something I would travel with because I always prefer something greasier staying in a (air-conditioned) hotel room.
Enough of all the protection for the skin, let’s move on to this unique product for the legs, shall we? The Delightful Leg Massage Cooling Gel (S$34) comes in a handy squeeze tube which presents comfort to your legs! With peppermint oil and menthol, the product cools and relieves stress on the legs, especially the calves!
As I am typing this, I’m feeling the cool sensation on my aching calves after an intense badminton session! It just feels so nice~
The gel also contains arnica, a herb long used in the Alps for a refreshing massage. Besides helping your legs to relax, it also moisturises! I adore the after-feel of applying because the skin feels so soft and smooth, without any hint of stickiness/greasiness.
To end off, here’s a shot two months back when we were invited to Belif’s Summer Yoga Retreat, introducing the latest sun care range!
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
