Sun’s out, let’s beach-out with Benefit Cosmetics Hoola collection: Review, Swatches & Makeup Look

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola collection
Nobody does bronzing better than Hoola by Benefit Cosmetics! Bronzing and contouring is the IN thing now, have you kick-started your bronzing journey yet? If you haven’t, then the Hoola collection is your best bet. I’ve been a Hoola Matee Bronzer user since I started my makeup journey and I swear by it that it’s the best matte bronzer you’ve got to own! Now that the Hoola family’s expanded, let’s discover them one by one, shall we?
Three new products have been added to the Hoola range. Guess what are they? 😉

If you’re a powder bronzer type of girl, then you’ll find this handy and useful. The Hoola Bronzing & Contouring Brush seamlessly applies any powder bronzer or blush with its plush, soft bristles! I love the handle size and shape for it is made in consideration of how you would grip a brush upon application. The bamboo-inspired handle also screams tropical summer!
The bristles are tinted in turquoise with a special dome shape that easily sculpts and contours your face. It’s the perfect size to fit in the contours of your cheeks 😉 I love using this with my Hoola Matte Bronzer. I think they both work in complement to give you naturally sculpted cheeks.
My pick for this new range is none other than Dew The Hoola Liquid Bronzer. It honestly took me quite sometime before I managed to conquer it. It comes with a shiny bronze-gold tree trunk-like packaging similar to the brush, which is meant to exude that tropical feel.
This liquid bronzer is made to give your face a year-round glow without the gleam. The smoothing effects and lightweight texture melt into your skin for a shimmerless, natural look that seems like your face is naturally slim and contoured!
The product comes in a bottle with a hygienic pump. The formula is dedicated to give you a soft-matte finish which blends seamlessly. It also has that signature hoola scent too. Because the formula is meant to blend in sheer, it makes it easy if you want to layer for deeper contouring. Also because of the sheer formula, it’s suitable for fair skinned girls and even medium skin tone ladies too!
As mentioned, I took sometime to get used to the layering simply because you’ve got to know how much to apply and blend to get your desired contour. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll find that it’s easy to blend and go. It lasts pretty long too under the hot, humid weather. You can always pat on an extra layer of matte bronzer over to make your contour last really long. This liquid bronzer is worth a try I’d say.
Here’s how it looks after 2 layers/ I quite like the natural effect, what do you think? 😉 It isn’t too orange as well which keeps me at ease. Orange bronzers can be too warm for my skin tone and it’ll give my complexion a dirty wash of colour. This is a pretty warm shade as compared to Hoola Matte Bronzer but not too orange.
Probably the freshest product in the range is the Hoola Zero Tanlines Body Bronzer. To be honest, I can’t quite get how body bronzers work because my skin is already too dark for my liking (not like I can do anything…). However, if you’re a fair-skinned girl looking to look more sunkissed, then try this out! It’s gonna be your TANtasy come true.
This smooth, non-sticky body bronzer glides and blends on instantly and seamlessly for a thoroughly believable bronze. Meant to last a good 12-hour, the formula stays on even when your clothes come off. It’s transfer-resistant and streak-free so you don’t have to worry about wearing those light-coloured clothing when you hit the beaches with this!
It has a hands-free applicator which helps to make blending easier. However, the size of the sponge will probably take you ages to apply to your whole body. I suggest using your hands to smooth the product all over your body instead if you don’t have time to spare.
As you can see, the texture of the product is very blendable and the translucency of the dispensed amount is indicative of how sheer it is, implying its buildability. If you wish to have a deeper bronze or for deeper skin tones, let dry and apply another layer on top of your first layer.
So, which Hoola product is your favourite? Mine’s definitely Dew The Hoola Liquid Bronzer because it complements so much with my Hoola Matte Bronzer!
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
